NEWER SILVERADO FRAME AND CHASIS, SMOOTH RUNNING 305CI, SLICK PAINT, DRIVE NOW!

Some trucks really can do it all. This 1958 Chevrolet 3100 pickup has that classic old truck look, but underneath there's a 1990 Chevy Silverado chassis so it's got modern reliability and performance, and combined with a stunning custom interior, this is a truck that gets everything right.

OK, so it's probably not going to be doing any heavy lifting at Home Depot this weekend, but if you're into hitting the local shows, this truck is sure to get plenty of attention. Unlike a lot of chassis swaps, this one keeps its original proportions and looks quite authentic, which is a good thing because these were some of the best-looking pickups ever built. It was drenched in Viper Blue paint, but only after the body was smoothed and straightened. Check out the detailing on the rear fenders, the even door gaps, and the big hood that sits flush with the peaked fenders next to it. Yeah, they were sweating the details when this truck went back together. None of the chrome or other trim was deleted, since that's a big part of what makes these trucks so successful, and all of it was restored or replaced to give it a bright, crisp look. The bed was fully restored, too, including all-new wood throughout ... Please ask for the full description.

The bed was fully restored, too, including all-new wood throughout plus a set of stake sides that are removable so you can alter the look to suit your mood.

The interior is an unexpected treat, with custom blue and white buckets (power on the driver's side) that anchor a brilliant two-tone interior. Most everything you can see or touch was modified in some way, from the door panels to the instrument panel. It's still got heavy-duty floor coverings and a shifter right there between the seats where it belongs, and a center console is a welcome addition for those long road trips. The original dash was restored but the instrument panel is now filled with white-faced Auto Meter gauges for a modern look. The A/C is unobtrusive but highly effective, there's a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash, power windows, and a tilt column for comfort. The Grant GT steering wheel is wrapped in matching white leather to tie the interior together and there's a "bigfoot" accelerator pedal just for fun. This truck doesn't seem to take itself too seriously.

Stuffing a modern chassis under an old pickup is not nearly as easy as it seems. But these guys did such a good job that it's almost impossible to separate the old and new, so seamlessly were they blended. The 305 cubic inch V8 settles into the engine bay like it was born there and looks great in Chevy Orange, especially with that big 4-barrel carb up top. Modern accessories, power front disc brakes, and power steering are, of course, standard equipment and service access is quite good. A new aluminum radiator is wrapped in shiny diamond plate for an industrial-strength look that also helps keep things cool. Backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a highway-friendly rear axle, this is a great truck for driving just about anywhere and it rides quite well on the Silverado's independent front suspension. Chrome factory Silverado wheels look custom under the '58's sheetmetal and carry 235/75/15 white-letter radials.

There's a heck of a lot of work, time, and money wrapped up in this gorgeous pickup. Not many resto-mods go this far, but you'll appreciate it every time you turn the key. Call today!
