The 1950 Buick Super featured the new prominent one-year-only "waterfall" grill and more rounded styling. This car is a desirable Super Model 52 Riviera Sedan, which has a long 125 ½ inch wheelbase compared to the standard Model 51's 121 ½ inch wheelbase. They had VentiPorts on each side of the hood with four for the Roadmaster and three for the Supers and Special. For 1950 the portholes or VentiPorts became flatter and were moved from the front fenders to the sides of the hood. Buick stayed with the tried and proven valve in head "Fireball" straight eight-cylinder engine rather than following Cadillac and Oldsmobile to the short-stroke V-8. That would come in 1953. Model year production was a record for Buick with 558,439 leaving the factory and sales placed them fourth on the sales charts.
This 1950 Buick Super wears its original Cloud Mist Grey paint, displaying a fantastic patina that only decades of aging can create, and is full of charm and character. Some tastefully applied pinstriping and the original red steel wheels with black radial tires complete the cool look of this classic cruiser.

• Overhead-valve “Fireball” straight eight engine
