RARE SKYLINER IN FACTORY COLORS! 332 V8, AUTO, POWER STEERING, POWER BRKS, DRIVES GREAT!

In the late 1950s, Ford wanted to capitalize on the Space Race dominating the planet. So, in 1957, the Blue Oval decided to launch (pun intended) the Galaxie trim as the top-tier option for its Fairlane line of vehicles. Fittingly enough, also in 1957, Ford decided to create a drop-top version of the Fairlane, allowing owners to look up at the target of all that excitement more easily. The retractable folding hardtop lasted just two years in total. But this 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner we have for you today represents the one and only year of the Galaxie Skyliner. With its power-folding hardtop, Continental Kit, and unmistakable '50s fins, this Galaxie is out of this world cool. Inside, we find a very stock and correct-appearing Geranium, black cloth, and vinyl interior that is as 1950s as drive-in movies and poodle skirts. The AM radio remains on display and complements the bench seating and column shifter to complete the package.

Under that long, front-hinged hood, we find a 332 cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 topped with a single two-barrel carb. When new, that engine produced an advertised 225 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Power is then routed from the motor through a two-speed ... Please ask for the full description.

Power is then routed from the motor through a two-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission before heading out to the nine-inch rear. A set of 215/75R-14 Hankook tires wrap around fourteen-inch wheels at all four corners, while power drums all-around handle braking duties.
