UNIQUE, INLINE-4, 2SPD TRANS, COOL/AFFORDABLE MUSEUM/ VINTAGE RACE PIECE, WILD!!

It's time to be the most interesting racer on the track - if you dare. This 1952 Kurtis Kraft Midget Racer represents an authentic vintage racecar from a time when you needed more guts than ego.

Take a moment to imagine you're coming off the final hairpin at your favorite track. You are wearing leather racing goggles, the wind whips through your helmet, and everyone in the pits and the grandstand can see the 10,000-watt smile on your face. That's because this is racing in its purest form. Kurtis Kraft is at the bedrock of American racing, and the open-wheel Midget put racing within the hands of the public. So think of it as the Model T for the daredevil crowd. We have an impressive (but unverified) story on this one. This was said to have been raced in California by Kenny Parks. His brother Wally Parks was the founder of the NHRA. And the distinct pink paint was so that it would be noticeable if it crashed or when missing on the track! There's a beauty in the way the super-slick torpedo-style body is built purely for function. The same goes for the pink paint, which wears plenty of marks earned from the heated competition. And the black wheels, grille, and frame even show that ... Please ask for the full description.

And the black wheels, grille, and frame even show that Eegor the Eyesore actually understands color coordination quite well.

The interior is pure racecar cool. The contoured race seat, wide fabric lap belt, and grippy steering wheel are about pure function in a cab where the driveshaft is open and running through the middle. The dash is mainly about being a display of its history of being part of the SoCal car scene, but you still have the very important oil pressure readout. Plus, one push of the start button, and you'll hear that single exhaust boom out a classic tone that sounds like old-time jazz to the oldtimer racers.

The engine bay continues the old-school and functional package. The winged diamond shield cast into the covers of the motor is the unmistakable logo of Borgward. Their little 1.5-liter motor was a terrific racecar powerhouse, especially when paired with the light/minimalist Midget body. The two-speed transmission, hand-operated brakes, and skinny race tires are all part of the authentic feeling. So while this one is not set up for sanctioned vintage racing, all you have to do is idle it around the family farm to get a little good taste of the true racer spirit.

This Kurtis Kraft Midget is ready to connect you with a bygone era the moment you get in the driver's seat. This is truly what vintage racing is all about. Call today!!!
