You stopped to look at this 1965 Dodge Coronet 440 for the same reasons we did, too...you want to know what's under the hood scoop. As it turns out 440 is not only the trim level, but also the displacement for the monster in the engine bay! You even have a four-speed to fully harness the power of this hardtop street machine.
We like the red paint on this one. It's bright and complete, but with the right touch of aged-in respect to make this one look like it has been the long-standing king of the blacktop. The bumpers shine brightly, and the rest of the brightwork is present and looking nice. The clean full package makes people take notice of the extra-wide front end, angular hardtop, and trim that runs the full length of this coupe. It's a vintage presentation that feels authentic right down to the factory hubcaps.
The interior has the right vintage car style. You have two wide rows of bench seats to fit everyone, and the low backs of the front mean an unobstructed view through this pillarless hardtop. The carpet, headliner, and dash pad all look good to give you an inviting driver-quality experience. The factory steering wheel and big bright dash panel are true Mopar works of ... The carpet, headliner, and dash pad all look good to give you an inviting driver-quality experience. The factory steering wheel and big bright dash panel are true Mopar works of art. But the piece you're really going to enjoy the most is the Hurst floor shifter.
The big hood scoop is really just there for show, but this one proves it earns it. Because underneath is a show-ready engine bay with some serious Mopar power in the middle. Classic car lovers will marvel at the smooth blue block and classic Magnum air grabber. Muscle car fans will love the big 440 V8 that's upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and long tube headers feeding into the dual exhaust. The tidy motor is said to have been rebuilt only about 1k miles ago, and so it fires up with the eagerness of a fresh powerhouse. You fully control the power with a smooth-shifting four-speed manual transmission. Add in power brakes, front discs, and wide Cooper Cobra tires, and you have a powerful coupe that can confidently get down the road.
Complete with build receipts, this is the kind of car that looks like it has ruled the blacktop for decades. And it has the kind of fresh powerhouse to ensure its reign will continue for many years to come. Call now!
