ONLY 73,162 ACT'L MILE, # MATCH 327CI V8, 2SPD AUTO, ORIG PAINT, TOP, DOCS, ETC!

There is a certain beauty in honesty, especially when it comes to this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. It's a well-documented survivor with its numbers-matching V8 and a real period-correct vibe all around. It makes for an iconic classic that really is for the collectors out there.

It's hard not to get excited when you see the first-gen Camaro presented in its bold and factory-correct code R1 Matador Red. It's true classic lacquer paint that shows all the right signs of being the original factory application. This includes the imperfections because after all, a survivor is supposed to tell a story. So, it helps show over a half-century of history in the finish and aging to the original convertible top. This is pretty exciting if you're a survivor fan, and it's ok if you're not, because we have a few examples of restored Camaros elsewhere. The desirability of this classic is in finding an icon that looks very untouched, and because it has averaged less than 1,400 miles annually, it has a level of a well-respected fit today.

The included window sticker tells us this had some desirable features, including the red interior that looks so cool against the exterior red paint. The ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

The level of care here is especially where the low mileage shows its advantage. The low-back bucket seats look great, so you know this was never neglected in the sunshine with the top down. You'll love the little details, too, like the wood-style trim, working heat/defrost, and the AM radio still turns on (it may need servicing to pick up stations.) Even the trunk has a highly authentic style - right down to the mat. You slip behind the original three-spoke wheel and look at the factory gauge arrangement set in the European-inspired dual pod design. It all gives a great survivor feeling that's pure vintage cool.

Under the hood is Chevrolet's hardy and powerful 327 cubic-inch V8. It's dressed nicely with Chevy orange paint on the block, intake, and valve covers. This has been resprayed to keep the motor looking vibrant, but that's fine when you know you have the history of the numbers-matching block underneath. It's an overall tidy presentation where people will see so much originality, that they'll likely be more about pointing out the few upgrades, like the newer master cylinder and Optima red top battery. It's been under proper care, and so that means it fires up with ease and runs as a good small-block should. Add in the Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and upgraded front discs, and this makes it an easy choice for weekend cruising.

The sale comes complete with all the right pieces. This includes paperwork like the dealer invoice, original bill of sale, window sticker, warranty card, owner's manual, service manuals, title documentation, and maintenance records. There are also spare components, like an extra trunklid w/spoiler and correct-style wheels with redline tires (the disc brakes upgrade meant they no longer fit.) Are you starting to see how much of a comprehensive survivor this is? That's why it has even been a two-time best survivor award winner at the Camaro Grand Nationals. We know this high level of originality is the kind of package that will never go out of style, which is why we know this Camaro will be leaving our showroom soon. Call now!
