With only a few years in production, LT1 Corvette power, and a cool full-size appearance we hadn't seen since the muscle car era, we all knew cars like this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS would be classics. That's why a quarter-century later it's great to find a well-kept one-owner example.
Chevy really did a great job of giving the Caprice some cool attitude when creating the unique Impala SS. The bumpers, badges, and subtle spoiler blend so well with their body-colored presence. And these just look particularly nice in black. It seems to set the tone right for a powerful machine. This is a one-owner car, and so it has the right signs of good care that you'll see throughout. But what we like about this one is that it has been enjoyed over the last 25 years. That means you don't have to worry about keeping it pristinely stock. After all, you can already spot some upgrades, like the badging and American Racing Legend Series wheels. And when you don't have to keep it like a time capsule you get the right mix of a well-kept car that's also easy to use the value price towards updating the paint or make any personal touches during your upcoming quarter-century of ownership.

Inside is the true treat for Impala fans. The gray leather is luxurious, and the exceptional condition is the hallmark of the superior care you get in a one-owner car. But as a usable classic, there's also serious room for family and friends to spread out. You can easily keep all of them happy because this is loaded with features like power windows, power locks, cruise control, power mirrors, and ice-cold air conditioning. The radio has been upgraded to a powerful AM/FM stereo with a CD changer. There's even the modern safety of dual airbags and anti-lock brakes. But even when it's just you, this Impala is a great machine. The front bucket seats power adjust so you can get the perfect driving position. The tilt wheel and center console mean your arms are never fatigued. So this is the muscle car that's also built for long-haul comfort.
The Impala SS is a true legend thanks to the Corvette's LT1 V8. And the upgraded engine covers do a great job of reminding you of that connection. The fuel-injected V8 inhales deeper with a cold air intake, and it makes a sweet rune with glasspacks on the dual exhaust. The four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive is smooth and always seems to be ready to leap into action. The suspension has been upgraded over the Caprice to handle the extra power with ease, and it comes with power steering, sway bars, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with terrific paperwork like the original window sticker, owner's manual, maintenance records, service manuals, and a dyno sheet. So when a one-owner modern classic is also exceptionally affordable, you know you can't pass up this deal. Call now!
