302 V8, 3SPD AUTO, PWR STEER/BRAKES, RUNS/DRIVES WELL, NICE COLORS IN/OUT, SHARP

The 1973 Ford Mustang was the last year for the first generation, and it was also the last convertible pony car for nearly a decade. And so you can't beat a standout like this one with V8 power, a cool color combo, and plenty of sporty style.

It's pretty hard not to love a bright red Mustang convertible. This was an upgrade later in life, and so that means a fresher application that also has a good gloss in the sunshine. Red also is an aggressive color, and so it sets the right tone for all the sporty blackout pieces, including the full-length hockey stick stripe, full-width rear spoiler, rear panel, and the hood trim that really draws your attention to the two functional air scoops. The color-matched front bumpers, form-hugging chrome rear bumpers, and Magnum 500 wheel with pony center caps complete a package that really respects this car's history while also showing off its best pieces.

The black convertible top is a newer piece, and so it goes great with the glossy black accents of the exterior. This color combo looks so good that you'll also be happy to know that when you power the roof down there's also a full black interior. And because the dark color is so important to this ... Description

And because the dark color is so important to this convertible's inside/outside coordination they made solid investments here, like newer seat covers and newer carpeting. These kinds of additions enhance the quality feeling without taking away from the vintage atmosphere. In fact, this one really likes to show off its classic/stock style everywhere from the wood-like trim on the doors to the Philco AM/FM radio that's still there for display. Like a good pony car, this is set up to be a good driver. The high-back front bucket seats, floor shift, and grippy dual-spoke steering wheel make it easy to get comfortable.

The engine bay has a terrific look you want in a V8 Mustang. After all, the best engines from Ford's big blue oval also have a bold blue appearance. And the pliable rubber gasket on top of the air grabber is something enthusiasts love to point out at the car shows. It means yours is really breathing fresh air from the functioning hood scoops. Underneath is a 302 cubic-inch V8 fitted with an Edelbrock intake and a four-barrel carburetor. It's a good runner that also has great anytime driving features, like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs.

Complete with owner's manual, this is a classic convertible Mustang from quite a significant year. So it's great to find an example that represents the style and substance so well. Call now!
