This 1973 Ford Bronco has been given solid investment to give it radiant paint, extra 4x4 prowess, and a terrific-looking interior with well-integrated upgrades like power windows and A/C. And when you include fuel injection for the 302 V8 in the mix, you realize this is the kind of vintage 4x4 that has been maximized for both flair and substance.
The paint set the tone for an eye-catching classic. According to the trim tag, the dark blue is factory-correct, but this is not the factory application. Ford couldn't give you this level of gloss and shine in the 1970s. It does a terrific job of showcasing the well-creased sheet metal that makes these Broncos so distinct that Ford brought the design back for the new one. And the metallic element in the finish gives this a radiant style every time this SUV goes out for an adventure in the sunshine. We also like the dark blue because it makes for a nice contrast with the removable white hardtop. Clean glass, good rubber, nice trim, and bright chrome bumpers signal overall investments to keep this SUV looking good. Plus, the added polished components like clear headlights, classic 15-inch slotted mag wheels, and matching spare tire on the swing way mount add to the usefulness as well as the style.
The interior continues this Bronco's feeling of being vintage yet upgraded. It's a sea of blue that includes cool-looking seats with comfy houndstooth cloth inserts. The side panels were even done to match. There are also some nice upgrades like power windows, tinted glass, an alarm, a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner, and cold-blowing air conditioning. So this classic Bronco has some of the best features you want in the brand new one! The focus of the full package is about being a cruiser, and so you have driver-friendly features like bucket seats up front like a grippy Ford steering wheel and a vintage Westline tach on the steering column.
Under the hood is the largest motor that was offered in these first-gen Broncos: the mighty 302 cubic-inch V8. Plus, this one has been upgraded with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection for better power and consistency. And you'll spot plenty more nice upgrades under the hood, like the headers and CPP master cylinder. The V8 starts easily, idles nicely, and shifts cleanly with the three-speed automatic transmission. The two-speed transfer case, Pro Comp lift kit, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As are great for proper 4x4 work. But Broncos also got their beloved reputation because they were good on the streets, and this one certainly has the style that can be rewarding even if you never leave the pavement. So it has a proper cruiser attitude with power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
