RECENT RESTORATION, BUILT 350CI MOTOR, SUPER SLICK PAINT, VERY CLEAN C10

This great-looking 1972 Chevrolet C10 stepside pickup is proof that quality never goes out of style. The bright Viper Red finish is dazzling on the truck's lean sheetmetal, and the way it's hunkered down on a lowered suspension and huge aluminum wheels only emphasizes how perfectly the stylists nailed the design.

While there's a thriving aftermarket for these trucks, this one seems to be wearing all stock body panels including the bed, which was originally a fleetside but it was stolen years ago and replaced with the far better looking stepside arrangement it wears today. The fit and finish of the recently-completed restoration is very good, with tight panel gaps and great alignment, and the wooden bed floor is simply gorgeous. Modern urethane was used to create that deep shine, so it will look that good for years to come with only modest maintenance, and there's just enough chrome to really stand out against the Viper Red paint. Tinted windows, a minimum of extraneous trim, and those clean, uncluttered lines make this one of the best-looking pickups we've featured in a long time, with everything done just right.

The modestly customized interior is a great place to spend some time. ... Please ask for the full description.

Houndstooth upholstery was available on some C10 models throughout its production run, so it looks right at home in this '72 Cheyenne. The upholstery, carpets, and dash pad were replaced when the truck was restored, and thanks to careful installation and quality materials, it looks fantastic. Original gauges live in the dash, with big, clear faces and bright markers, plus an under-dash temperature gauge from Auto Meter. You will note that this truck includes factory A/C and a tilt column, the latter topped with a sporty Grant steering wheel, and the wiring harness is brand new. The center of the dash houses a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo in the original slot and looks like it belongs there and sounds a lot better than the original radio.

Under the hood you'll find a professionally built 350 cubic inch V8 full of traditional hot-rodding components. Up top there's a big 4-barrel carburetor under a chrome air cleaner, and it matches the valve covers. Internally, the small block features a steel crank, chromoly rods, a roller camshaft, and a set of reworked cylinder heads with 2.02 valves. The dual exhaust feeds a pair of recent Flowmaster mufflers, so it sounds great, and before you experts E-mail us, this truck was actually special ordered with leaf springs in place of the stock coils. The transmission is a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic feeding a beefy 12-bolt rear, so no worries about going out and having some fun with the horsepower. The ride height was lowered to give it a nice rake, but it still rides well and retains its load-carrying capacity, so it's still viable as a truck. Wheels are massive 17-inch Boyd Coddington billet aluminum hoops wearing 235/60/17 front and 255/55/17 rear performance radials.

Clean trucks of this vintage are not so easy to find, and we've been lucky here at Streetside Classics to run across more than our fair share. This is one of the better ones we've seen, combining great looks and spectacular highway manners to create an eyeball-popping pickup that you'll be proud to own. Call today!
