Sure, it's a modern take on a legendary classic, but the unique color combination works so well on the vintage fastback shape, giving it a clean, chiseled look that really pops. And aren't you growing a little tired of seeing the same Wimbledon White and Blue striped Mustangs running around? Maybe not exactly 'tired' (because those cars are awesome too), but it's quite refreshing to see a new approach to a tried-and-true formula. The results speak for themselves with off-the-charts curb appeal and because the paint was finished to such a strong, top-driver quality level with so few imperfections to pick at, this Mustang draws huge crowds everywhere it goes. And if you're going to attract all that attention, you had better get the sheetmetal underneath right, too, so a lot of effort went into prepping the bodywork before a single drop of paint went down. Gaps are good all around, the doors fit beautifully, and they didn't take any liberties with the tidy original shape. Performance add-ons include blacked-out mesh grilles up front, a fiberglass hood with a tasteful scoop, Shelby quarter windows tinted to match the rest of the glass, a billet Shelby gas cap out back, and of course, those Shelby inspired stripes that were painted on and buried underneath the clearcoat. Those Shelby-inspired details just reek of speed and performance, and when coupled with the bright chrome bumpers, flashy brightwork around the glass, door hardware, and side mirrors, and the aggressive styling of the blacked-out taillight surrounds and dual exhaust tips poking out below the rear valance, this Mustang looks like a gentleman that could still punch you in the face for being uncouth. Beauty and brawn encapsulated in a muscle car – isn't that what this era is all about?

The updated black vinyl interior has been restored to high standards and looks virtually untouched inside, a testament to the scant miles on the clock since the build was completed. Look closely and you'll see that the front buckets are taller and more supportive modern pieces complete with headrests, although they've been upholstered in the vintage Mustang style with pleated inserts and pronounced black stitching. The fold down rear seat was finished to match, as were the stock door cards punctuated with bright new hardware, and the center console was purposely fabricated to nestle in between the front seats like it always belonged – providing a custom twist on an old favorite. Neatly trimmed in black vinyl, the console offers added storage space, a comfortable arm rest, cup holders, a couple auxiliary switches that are unused, and a tall Hurst shifter topped with a Shelby knob. A remote module for the Holley Sniper EFI system is also in tow, along with a USB and 12V outlets, and controls for the Vintage Air A/C system that was cleverly installed to fill the cabin with ice-cold air. A Shelby-style Lecarra steering wheel mounted atop an Ididit tilt column is at the helm of the cockpit, and a full set of blacked-out AutoMeter gauges laid out in the GT-style just beyond it keep an eye on the upgraded powertrain. A retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo was mounted in the center of the dash per stock specs, the plush carpets and taut headliner are new, and there's even a rare trunk latch by the driver's seat – a welcomed option we never see in classics. Lay down the seats for extra storage, or use the surprisingly spacious trunk that was fully upholstered to match the cabin.

As we mentioned before, the engine powering this 'Stang is a stout 347 Stroker V8, but let's get into some of the details. Pro-built with a Howards Cams high-lift roller camshaft, AFR aluminum heads, a SCAT crank, and topped with an aluminum air-gap intake, a full Holley Sniper EFI system, and JBA headers at the flanks, it's an incredibly powerful small block that's barely been broken-in. It fires instantly thanks to MSD ignition/distributor/plug wires, billet pulleys, brackets, and a serpentine belt system all drive the accessories, and an aluminum radiator with a Flex-Wave fan keep temperatures at bay. The block itself is beautifully detailed with custom '347 Stroker' valve covers and a blacked-out air cleaner, neatly organized wiring/plumbing, and polished accessories everywhere you look. A Z-Series Tremec 5-speed with a modern driveline and hydraulic clutch handles all that power with aplomb, spinning a 9" posi-traction rear end filled with 3.55 Richmond gear and 28-spline axles. 2-inch drop spindles and a Rod & Customs IFS featuring tubular A-Arms, a swaybar, adjustable coilovers, and a Borgeson power rack-and-pinion steering keep the car planted to the road, with upgraded leaf springs, shocks, a swaybar, and traction bars keep the back end in control. Power front disc brakes and rear drums from a Ford pickup provide ample stopping power, and the soundtrack is unreal thanks to an X-pipe exhaust punched up with Walker mufflers. Flashy Ridler wheels wear fresh 225/50/17 front and 245/450/17 rear Bridgestone radials that perfectly finish the performance look.
