SMOOTH RUNNING & PERIOD CORRECT 250 CI SIX CYLINDER, AUTO TRANS, STOCK SPEC!!

It's hard to find a nicely presented classic that looks period-correct without breaking the bank...or is it? This 1951 Chrysler Windsor is a clean and complete example. Not only do you rarely see these today, but this also has some rare features (like power windows!) And so to find one with a strong-running powerplant makes for the kind of car you really need to get to know.

Chryslers of this era were some of the most traditionally styled cars in their class, and today that just seems to amplify the vintage appeal. So it's great to find one where the sheetmetal is nice enough where you really see the curves in the fenders and the doors line up with care. There are great premium details, like the three-piece back window and winged hood ornament leading the way. And the grille is absolutely stylish in the way it both bars of brightwork wrap around the front, and the upper one also continues down the side without letting the wheel arch or door stop its look of an unbroken line. You don't get to see these kinds of details unless a car has been well preserved to such a high standard. There's even some documentation that suggests (but not proves) the odometer represents the full actual ... Please ask for the full description.

There's even some documentation that suggests (but not proves) the odometer represents the full actual mileage. If you were looking for a show-stopper, then the value price leaves room in your budget for a re-spray or a re-chrome, but that's not the real point here. The way this one is currently presented strikes a real honesty. Chrysler's Haze Blue has a correct non-metallic finish where the paint has aged-in correctly. And all the badging is complete, right down to what's believed to be the original dealer tag on the rear. So the moment that you take this one out of our showroom, it has the right vintage personality where it looks like it has spent the last 70 years taking this Chrysler out of the garage only to take it on a meandering drive to Sunday church.

The tasteful interior is pure post-war comfort. That means plenty of legroom and even fold-down armrests on both rows of benches. There have been the right updates here, like newer carpeting and seat vinyl for the high traffic areas up front. But many pieces also remain highly stock/original to make sure you really get the true vintage car experience. The dash has that ideal post-war premium brightwork presentation, and the style is intricate, right down to the steering wheel. You'll enjoy looking over it all, including details like the working AM radio and courtesy lights. And while this is a Windsor Deluxe, the power windows are a true rarity. So not only are they convenient, but you'll probably impress even the most fickle seen-it-all Mopar guys.

With a car that's looked this classically authentic so far, it's a delight to find a period-correct 250 cubic-inch six-cylinder under the hood. The engine bay is tidy and quite authentic, showing original-style parts including the oil bath air cleaner. But there's much more to this motor's story. The consignor claims a comprehensive rebuild during his eight years of ownership. He provided a full list of essentials, including new valves, pistons, rings, seals, cam bearings, and a polished crankshaft. And the way this classic fires up and run reaffirms the feeling of quality work. Another distinct classic feature is the Fluid-Matic four-speed semi-automatic transmission. It's a unique piece that disappeared after 1953, and so to have it properly serviced as part of the rebuild really adds to the uniqueness and drivability of this Chrysler. There's even a set of modern radial tires behind the classic whitewall look to help keep this a true cruiser.

The sale comes complete with an owner's manual and long list of care/work that has come under the current owner. It all makes for a terrific vintage car offered for a terrific price. Call today!!!
