TRUE GTO IN FACTORY COLORS! 400 V8, AUTO W/ OD, PS, PB W/ FRT DISC, BUILD SHEET

Year-in and year-out, few cars are as popular as the mighty Pontiac GTO. And if you're a fan of driving, this bright Cardinal Red 1970 Pontiac GTO hardtop offers everything you'd want, ranging from a stout 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood, a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission handling the gears, and a sporty black bucket seat interior, all wrapped-up in a gorgeous, fully restored package. This GOAT is simply GRRRRRReat!

Fully restored to a top-driver quality level, the paint and bodywork on this legendary Poncho is in great shape. It's obvious this was always a super-solid car that's been well cared for since new, which is typical of a vehicle that was basically a classic the second it hit the market back in 1970. That's a big plus on a car that's 52 years old and it made the perfect foundation for the vivid finish. Resprayed a few years back and still looking slick today, it was correctly redone back to its original Code 75 Cardinal Red, and who could dare change up such a killer color combination? With only minor imperfections to speak of, and maybe a miniscule touch-up or two along the edges of the driver's door, this hardtop is dressed-to-impress, and with not a lot of trim and no ...

With only minor imperfections to speak of, and maybe a miniscule touch-up or two along the edges of the driver's door, this hardtop is dressed-to-impress, and with not a lot of trim and no obnoxious decals, that striking red finish does all the talking. The Endura front bumper was a pretty big deal in 1970 and gives the Goat a uniquely Pontiac look, and with the addition of a chin spoiler, a hood complete with a functional tachometer, and an aggressive rear wing out back, this baby looks fast just sitting still and will likely never be challenged out in the streets. Correct GTO emblems and badges are in place exactly where they're supposed to be, and although there's not a ton of chrome, what is in place shines up beautifully against the contrasting red paint. That includes the headlight surrounds up front, all the brightwork around the crystal-clear glass, the stainless trim outlining the wheel arches, the rocker panel trim, and the big, rear bumper out back that looks really tough mounted above the dual exhaust tips in the lower valance.

The factory-correct black bucket seat interior is the perfect choice against the bright red exterior, and the high-back buckets look especially good inside this performance-oriented GTO. Featuring black vinyl with comfort-weave inserts, the front buckets are in excellent condition, matched by the rear bench that hardly looks used, and the flanking GTO door panels, plush black carpets, and taut headliner above all look fresh and make the cabin feel sporty and elegant inside. Woodgrain applique on the center console, shift knob, and gauge bezel warms things up a bit inside, and no performance Pontiac would like right without that awesome, engine-turned aluminum panel ahead of the driver. That 3-spoke steering wheel looks to be the original unit, further proof that this Goat has lived an easy life, and the unblemished dash, kick panels, and even the rear side panels and package tray out back are in such great shape you instantly know nothing was overlooked when this car was restored. Factory gauges ahead of the driver are all in great shape, including that awesome hood tachometer mounted beyond the windshield to keep an eye on the revs. Options include a tilt steering wheel, seatbelts, an AM/FM/Cassette stereo, recessed wipers, lightly-tinted glass, dual horns, and a heater/defrost unit that works great. Out back, the sizeable trunk was neatly finished with spatter paint and a plaid mat, and it houses a full-size spare tire and jack set.

Under that hood, there's a strong-running Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 and it delivers the kind of performance you'd expect from the flagship GTO. It's a correct YE code Ram Air IV block (although the Ram Air setup is not currently installed) with plenty of horsepower and a pretty stout torque curve, and it's a neat fit in the Goat's satin black engine bay. There's chrome lid atop the dual-snorkeled air cleaner that adds some flash, and the Pontiac Turquoise engine enamel is correct for the year. With a big 4-barrel carburetor, a stock-style intake, long-tube headers, and a big aluminum radiator, it runs well, pulls hard, and has a great eight-cylinder growl from the recently replaced dual exhaust system underneath. And speaking of underneath, get a load of those neatly painted floorpans and satin black undercarriage components! That's about as clean as you'll ever see on a driver, with no signs of major rust or abuse anywhere to report. An upgraded 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission means this Goat can be taken out on the highway and cruise in the left lanes without issue, and the heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end can handle all that power, so you don't have to worry about running it hard. Power steering and power front disc brakes vastly improve the driving experience, and with updated shocks at the corners and big sway bars fore and aft, it handles like a dream as well. Classic Rally II wheels are the perfect endcaps and carry 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A white-letter radials with plenty of grip.

Documented with its factory buildsheet still intact, along with the original owner's manuals, a reproduction dealer invoice, and a stack of build receipts, this fully sorted and dialed-in Goat is ready to enjoy right now. Call today!
