This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has an instant appeal with its bright personality, classic upholstery, and ultra-desirable hardtop profile. And since they added hardy V8 power and better driving features, it makes for the coupe that loves to cruise.
This one is done in a terrific color. After all, we love the way it looks when red glows in the sunlight, so this one is an extra light hue so it can look radiant even when in the shadows. And the nice luster shows off the clean lines and rounded curves of the fenders and hardtop roof. You have all the best brightwork. The full-length sweeping side trim, jet-inspired hood ornament, and front bumper and grille combo that are exclusive to the '57 Bel Air are all details that make this an icon. Overall, this is very much a driver's classic, and you pick up that vibe from upgrades like the dual exhaust tips and polished Cragar SS wheels with larger rear tires for that ideal stance.
The '57 Bel Air not only had style on the outside, but the interiors were distinct, too. So we're happy to see a quality presentation (there's even a full photo book to take you on the restoration journey.) This has the hallmark detailed upholstery with textured ... Description
So we're happy to see a quality presentation (there's even a full photo book to take you on the restoration journey.) This has the hallmark detailed upholstery with textured cloth inserts, matching door panels, and bright dash trim. In fact, this one feels correct, right down to the button-top presentation on the seatbacks. But just like the exterior, you also know there's more going on here. This has a driver-oriented style in the upgrades. That's why you have a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, an auxiliary gauge trio mounted under the dash, and a B&M ratchet shifter on the floor.
The engine bay has a striking look with dark inner walls, a color-matched firewall, and a tidy style. But you can also instantly tell this is a beefy powerhouse built for solid power. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is larger than what was offered in 1957, and this has been upgraded further with a full Edelbrock suite that includes a four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, polished valve covers, and a matching air grabber. There are also good supporting components like an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and an electric choke. The motor fires up nicely as the headers add power and the mufflers give it a subtly sweet tune. There's also a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and an upgraded rear sway bar for an overall solid driving package.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos, build receipts, service manuals, and nice extras like factory-style hubcaps. This is a well-finished hardtop already restored and upgraded the way you want. So don't miss this driving icon, call today!
