This 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne Super is exactly the kind of truck you would build for yourself. A few smart modifications for easy cruising, a killer stance, and a slick Light Blue paint job that lets the original styling speak for itself. This is a no-excuses truck in practically every way.

Beautifully finished in attractive Light Blue Metallic finish laid down from an expert's hand, this pickup looks like it's dressed up for a night out on the town, not a set of coveralls for work. The classic shape of the 'Action Line' C10 is undeniably attractive (hence the reason these era trucks are often dubbed the Glamour Line as well), but when it's wrapped in high-quality bodywork and a glossy, high-end paint job, it's downright arresting. Look at the reflections in the body's surfaces; there's not a ripple or distortion anywhere to speak of, which only means that someone spent a TON of time and money making it look that way. Completed a handful of year ago by the looks of things and as a result, it does have a few signs of age and use, but we have to admit it's about as nice as you'll find at this price point (especially in a Cheyenne Super), and we absolutely love the look of the light blue livery devoid of Cheyenne trim. A billet grille was added up front to add a custom feel and the windows were tinted dark, and when combined with those flashy Torque Thrust-style wheels this vintage truck instantly looks updated. Chrome bumpers fore and aft act as perfect end caps, while the Cheyenne Super fender badges boast that is indeed a top-of-the-line C10 – backed-up further by the original glove box sticker still presented inside. The bed is finished with a black spray-on bedliner, although admittedly it could use a quick wash to dust-off yesterday's payload, and while you're looking back there note the fuel filler cap tells us this truck has had its gas tank thoughtfully relocated to the back of the bed – a maneuver undertaken with safety in mind.

The upscale and neat presentation continues inside where newer and restored pieces were combined with original equipment to form a very comfortable cabin. The bench seat was wrapped in fresh black vinyl that looks elegant and wears like iron, and it looks right at home here inside this tough American hauler. Cheyenne-spec door panels with Western scrolled accents are at the flanks, which could easily pass for nicely-preserved original pieces, and they match the black pad atop the dash. All the steel inside was painted to match the exterior of the truck, and the black-and-blue color combination is a perfect match to the truck's overall theme. Black carpets and a custom Bowtie headliner makes it feel plush from behind the wheel, and the original dash bezel was filled with a combination of original and aftermarket gauges, including a center-mounted tachometer. Options include factory A/C that's been upgraded with modern hardware (needs service), power steering and power brakes, and a leather-wrapped Grant steering wheel that has a sporty look, as if it came from a Camaro or Corvette. A Panasonic AM/FM/CD head unit provides the entertainment, although you may forgo it once you hear the rumble emanating from under the hood.

That very rumble comes via a 350 V8 engine, which is an easy fit in the Chevy's light-blue painted engine bay. For the most part, it's got a very familiar look, including a big Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, a performance intake, long-tube headers, chrome Edelbrock valve covers and a matching air cleaner up top. Power steering and power front disc brakes are included, and thanks to proper tuning, it starts easily, idles smoothly, and has an awesome torque curve that makes it a blast to drive. Backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end, it's still ready and willing to work and is an able cruiser on the highway. It's nimble too, thanks to the help of a sway bar up front and upgraded shocks in the rear, and a custom exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers gives the V8 a familiar, throaty voice we all love. Upgraded Eagle Alloy wheels look right and totally stuff the wheelwells with fat 275/60/17 Firestone radials at all four corners.

All the time and money has already been spent, now all that remains is some quality cruising time. Cheyenne Supers are at the top of the food chain, and seeing one this reasonably priced is quite the treat. Call today!
