Description
If you have always dreamed of owning an incredibly well-done classic restomod but don't have the time or energy to put everything together piece by piece through years of trial and error before being able to enjoy the fruits of your labor, then you are in for a treat. This 1940 Ford Coupe comes to us with far too much to list in the space we have available. Fully repainted in a glossy black finish, this car has had its corners, doors, and trunk rounded, while those doors and its quarter panels have been lengthened by half an inch. The running boards have been narrowed, while the rear fenders have been widened a full 3.5 inches to give this Ford an old-school cool vibe that can be felt from any angle.
Inside, we find an entirely bespoke interior finished off with plush bucket seats outfitted in soft-to-the-touch premium vinyl. A GM tilt steering column capped off with a Billet Specialties wood-rimmed steering wheel sits just in front of a set of white-faced VDO gauges, which transmit all the vital information a driver needs in clear and easy-to-read style. Subtle details like the inlaid wood grain on the dashboard match that of the steering wheel. At the same time, the B&M Quicksilver floor shift is operated by a custom owner-made metal shifter that again ties back to the three-spoke steering wheel, which also uncoincidentally matches the polished American Racing wheels. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit powers through nine-inch Pioneer speakers via custom enclosures that look as if they could have been factory-made, as does the third brake light supremely integrated into the overhead console. Even the carpet-lined trunk gets a mirrored Ford logo and pass-through door to give this car the perfect mix of form and function.
Under the Shotgun hood scoop, we find a 347 cubic-inch Ford V-8 bored and stroked out to 352 cubic inches of displacement. Air Flow Research aluminum heads, roller rockers, and a Competition Cams Extreme Energy hydraulic roller camshaft are fed by an Edelbrock Air Gap intake topped with a Demon 750 cfm four-barrel carburetor. Custom-fabricated jet-coated headers give way to a true dual exhaust capped off by a set of FlowMaster 40-series mufflers. Power is routed through a Ford C4 three-speed automatic transmission complete with a 2,500 RPM stall converter before heading out to a 3.55 geared Eaton Positraction Ford nine-inch rear end.
