SURPRISINGLY CLEAN! NUMBERS MATCHING 350 V8, AUTO, A/C, PS, PB W/ FRT DISC, WOW

So nice to see all these cool Oldsmobiles finally getting some love. Although it's not a thumping 442 big block or even a 2-door hardtop, this 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-door sedan is an extremely clean, stylish, and downright handsome coupe with Rocket 350 power and a ton of luxury accessories. When was the last time you could get a muscle car that looks this good for so little money? How about never?

Code 81 stands for 'Pinehurst Green' in Oldsmobile marketing speak, and compared to the high-impact colors on some of the performance models, this lovely Cutlass Supreme coupe stays under the radar with period-correct elegance instead of in-your-face bravado. With a faithful repaint completed a few years back to a very high standard, it has a sincere, original look that we find incredibly appealing, and the high-end painters that were contracted to respray this Olds took no liberties with the original finish. No, pearls, metallics, or any other tweaks, just the same original-style finish (although if we're honest, no paint job looked this nice rolling out of the Arlington, TX Oldsmobile factory in 1972) the GM designers insisted on in 50 years ago. The sheetmetal underneath is all original ... Please ask for the full description.

The sheetmetal underneath is all original and laser-straight, further proof of a life spent as a cherished member of the family, and with the slight kick-up behind the doors, the Cutlass has a unique look that makes it stand out among its corporate cousins. We can't stress enough how truly nice this Cutty really is, and the fact that this is a preserved/restored 4-door makes it even more special and rare as so many of these sedans met their fate at the crusher years ago. It's not quite a showcar - no 4-door Cutlass really ever has ever been described as such - but it has the curb appeal and presentation of a much more expensive vehicle. The contrasting black vinyl roof only reinforces the handsome look that makes this car so appealing, and it's in excellent shape with no signs or rust or other trouble underneath. The iconic split front grille and big bumpers with incorporated lights are Cutlass staples, and along with the shiny stainless trim on the profiles and window surrounds provides the perfect amount of contrast to the light green paint.

There's a great-looking interior waiting for you inside, beautifully restored back to 100% original specs using correct, high-end pieces that look incredibly fresh and clean today. Much like the exterior, the cabin was finished to a high level not often seen in 4-door cars of this vintage, and all-day comfortable bench seat interior is a great in which to spend some time. The seat covers are in nothing short of great shape, front and rear, the matching door panels are dialed-in, and the plush black carpets below and taut white headliner above show that nothing was overlooked inside either. The black dash is so darn clean and stress-free it almost might be an OEM replacement piece, and it's filled with crisp original gauges inside the woodgrain-adorned bezel along with controls for the factory A/C and an original AM radio that both amazingly still work. There's more of that woodgrain applique on the door panels, giving the cabin a very sophisticated and appealing feel, the tilt steering wheel at the helm is probably the original piece, and the options list rounds out with correct vinyl mats on the floors, cruise control, and seatbelts fore and aft. Even the trunk is highly original with its original black vinyl mat and a full-sized spare tire that may very well be the original bias-ply unit from 1972.

Oldsmobile's Rocket 350 was no slouch in its day, even in 4-door Cutlass guise. Known for their torquey nature, the gold numbers-matching engine makes great V8 sounds that totally fit the car's luxury/performance mission, with plenty of horsepower and a fat torque curve on tap. The engine bay has been nicely detailed but remains quite stock, from the Quadrajet carburetor to the original snorkeled air cleaner to the cast iron exhaust manifolds. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic gearbox spinning a 10-bolt rear with gears that let the torque do the work but allow the car to cruise effortlessly on the highway without a lot of fuss. The floors are incredibly solid and original and in fantastic condition, again suggesting that this car has always been well-maintained and stored away from the elements. Power steering and power front disc brakes make this Cutty a dream to drive, while a newer, stock-style stainless dual exhaust system below produces the perfect soundtrack to complement this Cutlass' awesome curb appeal. Classic Super Stock II are exactly what you want on an original Cutlass, and they've been wrapped in BFGoodrich 225/70/14 white-letter radials.

More than just a nice old car, this is a bonafide collector piece that features a gorgeous restoration, a host of road-ready options, and killer curb appeal. What a unique find, call today!
