Description
Very cool, fun car here. This 1972 Porsche 914 Targa is in awesome shape. With its original Irish Green paint job, period-correct Pedrini wheels, and eccentric rear exhaust tips, you won't go too many places without running into someone who's never seen another vehicle quite like this one. The black bumpers and trim really set off the paint, and the large orange turn signals may be a bit odd, but they give the Porsche plenty of character.
The interior is stock but very clean and sporty-looking. It features a black-on-black color scheme with sport bucket seats. The center console houses an easy-to-reach shifter and clear, easy-to-read gauges. The carpet, door panels, and dashboard are all in good condition. The steering wheel and in-dash gauge cluster are stock-restored and look great, with gauges that remain easy to read. An old-school AM/FM radio sits in the center console and is time-period correct, although the speakers appear to be much more modern. The door jambs look clean, as do the trunk and the top of the removable roof-it's a pretty comfy little sports car overall.
The engine and drivetrain are a straightforward, no-nonsense setup. The engine bay is clean and houses a 1.7-liter air-cooled flat four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission-the same configuration that originally came with the '72 Porsche 914. The Constant Velocity (CV) joint axle connects to the transaxle, which is the original setup, and the suspension remains stock as well. The compact independent suspension was designed to provide comfortable driving while still being capable of road course racing if desired. Fifteen-inch wheels at all four corners are wrapped in 195/65R15 tires. Four-wheel disc brakes and a dual exhaust system round out the stock performance components.
