VERY CLEAN SURVIVOR W/ 30K BELIEVED ORIGINAL MILES, 5.0L V8, AUTO, CLEAN HISTORY

Looking for a clean third-generation Camaro, but perhaps something a little out of the ordinary? Sure, there are plenty of Z/28s and IROCs around, but when was the last time you saw a V8-powered base model? With an all-original, survivor-grade package and believe original mileage, it's a clean and unusual F-body that is full of potential as a bonafide “modern classic”.

Light colors always look like great on 3rd generation Camaros, and the Light Blue Metallic finish on this 1984 model was a perfect choice. This one sports much of its original paint (sans a minor touch-up here and there), as well as all original sheetmetal, and it's quite obvious it has never been rusty or hit while living an easy life as a weekend car. The clean, unadorned lines of the Camaro shine through, and without all the loud add-ons of an IROC or Z-car, it's easy to see why the design was such a game-changer in the early 80s. The wedge design is sporty, the lines are sleek, and the plain rear hatch looks especially slick in these days of everything from Hyundais to Subarus sporting some kind of wing tacked on back there. The chin doesn't show many marks from steep driveways, and the black components are remarkably ... Please ask for the full description.

With an all-original, survivor-grade package and believe original mileage, it's a clean and unusual F-body that is full of potential as a bonafide "modern classic".

The chin doesn't show many marks from steep driveways, and the black components are remarkably devoid of UV damage, which tended to happen almost overnight if you didn't take care of it. The original tape stripes are pure '80s, but they're in good condition and not peeling or cracking from age. Like I said, you don't often see one of these so nicely preserved, and this strong driver quality Camaro is a fine example.

Matching blue cloth upholstery inside is simply gorgeous, with sculpted, comfortable buckets and some of the coolest rear seat cushions you'll ever see in a coupe. Everything looks practically untouched inside, including the blue carpets that line the floors, the taut headliner above, and the door panels at the flanks, and remarkably there's no evidence of sun damage or any of the usual cracking on the top of the dash. GM's clearly marked gauges were a nice change from the digital frenzy going on at the time, and the rather unusual steering wheel with its rectangular hub shows that Chevy was still willing to take some design risks. An expansive center console splits the buckets and houses a cool-looking shifter for the 4-speed automatic shifter below, and the original options list includes tilt steering, factory air conditioning (needs service), seatbelts fore and aft, and the original Delco Extended Range System AM/FM stereo complete with an electric tuner. Even the hatch area is clean and shows no fading, not an easy feat with blue carpets and that massive glass rear window.

Power comes from GM's ultra-reliable 305 cubic inch V8 (aka the 5.0L V8) topped by a responsive fuel-injection system that still live up top. Mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, it's a fun, dependable powertrain that delivers V8 thrills on a budget, and with a reported 30,421 miles on the clock it's got plenty of life left in it. Showing signs of regular maintenance throughout, this original engine has never been apart and has never needed any major surgery thanks to those low miles, and because of that it runs just as smooth and silky as it did in 1984. Thanks to its Chevy DNA, it's also ready for upgrades if that's your bent, as every power-enhancing component that works on a small block V8 will bolt right on. On the other hand, it runs so well just the way it is, you might just enjoy the wonderful originality. If you had one of these in high school, you know what I'm talking about. Power steering and power front disc brakes improve the coupe's road manners, and the exhaust note has a wonderful, subtle yet smooth soundtrack to it thanks to the original exhaust system that still includes the catalytic convertor set-up. The undercarriage shows off further proof of the low mileage and clean-living since the car was new, with clean, all-original floorpans and components that are solid and neatly detailed. 14-inch color-matched alloy wheels are a perfect complement to the look of this original coupe, and they wear grippy 205/75/17 Hankook whitewall radials at all four corners.
