Description

FRAME OFF RESTO, 327 V8, 5SPD TRANS, PWR STEER/BRAKES, CLEAN IN/OUT & TOP/BOTTOM

This is a show-quality classic with a sleeper attitude. After all, this 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air has been given a restoration inside and out that leaves it looking like a time capsule. But the dual-quad small block and five-speed will leave everyone else behind.

This is the car that defined a generation. The '63 not only told the world the tailfin was dead, but it also signaled that angular style was the new direction. So it's no wonder they chose this year for a thorough restoration. The silver paint has a nice clearcoat shine that comes from someone taking the time/money to get a quality product. This added depth really showcases some of the best crisp lines of the car, like dual tapered crease in the hood, pointed rear overhang, the full-length pleat going down the side, and just below that, a narrowing style line that looks like it's pointing this classic forward. Oh yes, this car has style. You'll even love the details, like how the bumpers follow the curves of the sheetmetal, factory-style hubcaps, and the wraparound rear window. It all tells you there was a solid investment in this one to make it like a time capsule... and none of it hints at the beast within (yet.)

A red interior always looks great against the silver, but this one is a cut-above. They took their time to restore this to feel like today is 1963. Fresh carpeting, taut door panels with correct trim, and seats with the stylized cloth insert – these are the kind of details that make you proud to invite family and friends along for the ride. Sitting behind the wheel feels like time warp with the proper Bel Air center cap on the highly stylized rim. Plus, the wide speedometer is a great hallmark of the era. But then your performance senses start to tingle. After all, the tach and floor shift are the kind of thing that should get your heart racing even before you twist the key.

The engine bay looks tidy in the gloss black. Once again, they really got the details right with even the correct glass washer refill bottle mounted to the inner fender. But that's not what's commanding your attention. Instead, the bold block with all those polished components are what your eyes (and everyone else's) immediately gravitate towards. That's a 327 cubic-inch V8, and this hardy small block is almost covered in carbs thanks to the dual set of Edelbrock four-barrel units. They took their time on the motor build, so it fires up easily and is eager to hit the road. And no matter if you're taking the quarter mile or just boulevard cruising, the versatility of the upgraded five-speed manual is always welcomed. The same appeal goes for the power steering and front disc brakes.

As you look over all the car (including the undercarriage photos) you see the difference an investment in quality makes. Don't let this well-done Bel Air slip away, call today!
