WOW! STRONG REBUILT 327 V8, TREMEC 5 SPEED, PS/B, 4 WHEEL DISC, DRIVES AWESOME!

A quick rundown of the highlights in this gorgeous, frame-up restored 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible: a beefed-up, period-correct 327 V8, a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission, power rack-and-pinion steerig and power 4-wheel disc brakes, and a beautiful Silver-over-Red color combination that we find simply irresistible. If you've been looking for a dialed-in, mid-year Corvette droptop, but not one of those six-figure machines that crush bank accounts and can never be driven, then say hello to this silver bullet.

Yeah, the Sting Ray was a slam-dunk, 50 years of Corvette fans have pretty much proven that. Imagine you're walking down the street in late 1962, and this thing is idling at a red light, twin pipes burbling, and that astounding shape making you stop in your tracks and just stare until it disappears over the horizon. That's what the C2 is all about, the first arguable best Sting Ray incarnation from GM legend Zora Duntov et al. And if you have one, you need to do it right, because there's just too much history here to do half-hearted. The trim tag says it was originally born Daytona Blue, but when the repaint was done a few years back, it was done right and finished to a ... Please ask for the full description.

The trim tag says it was originally born Daytona Blue, but when the repaint was done a few years back, it was done right and finished to a very high, driver-quality standard that still shows today. Stripped to bare glass to erase all remnants of blue, this droptop was then put back together with precision and treated to a beautiful Silver finish that looks slick and gives the convertible a bit of an edge. The fiberglass is in top-notch condition with crisp details, sharp lines, and no signs of stress in the usual locations, and even the finish may no longer be a perennial show winner, it's still very nice and the curb appeal is through the roof. All the chrome was shined up, the stainless was polished, and the result is a high-quality piece that's ready to enjoy today. Take a look at that profile. My goodness, what a beautiful car!

It also features a dialed-in red leather interior, and when I say dialed-in, I mean it's so good that it's tough to tell if people have actually sat in this beauty. Everything was properly replaced when the car was restored (swapped-over from Daytona Blue as well), and like the exterior it shows incredibly well, especially the supple pleated seats, that leather-wrapped double-hump dash, black-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and beautifully appointed center console. Corvette engineers gave the Corvette a full array of gauges to keep an eye on the party under the hood, all of which are in great shape in this car, including the somewhat optimistic 160 MPH speedometer and correct 6500 RPM redline tach. Rare power windows highlight the options list, and you also get a heat/defrost system, a chrome short-shifter in the center console, and a set of seatbelts. Plush red carpets insulate the cabin and are further protected with a set of matching floor mats, while the optional black soft top is great shape but hasn't been exercised much, further proof that this Corvette has always been babied and kept out of the elements.

There's no such thing as a bad small block Chevy, and the built-up 327 cubic inch V8 in this Sting Ray is not only a dependable rebuilt piece, but a fantastic runner, too. Reported to boast a lively 10.4:1 compression, it's a period-correct piece that features a 1963 engine date code. It's not exactly arranged for NCRS show standards (although original finned Corvette valve covers are included with the sale if you'd like to take a step toward that level), but presents incredibly well with bright aluminum valve covers at the flanks, red engine enamel on the block itself, and a chrome air cleaner up top. Aided with the burly effort of an Edelbrock 410HP engine kit that features RPM aluminum heads, an air gap intake, and a 1406 4-barrel carburetor with an electric choke, it runs incredibly strong and was purpose-built to be driven often. An MSD ignition and chromed alternator help it fire with ease, a heavy-duty aluminum radiator with electric fans keeps it cool, while ceramic-coated Hooker headers that feed into the dual exhaust below help it breathe and sound downright erotic when at full bore. With a TKO 5-speed manual transmission, this C2 is every bit of a modern driver these days, helped further thanks to an upgraded front swaybar, newer front and rear suspension components and bushings everywhere you look, and a more-than-capable rear end with a reported 3.73 posi-traction gearing. Power steering and competent power 4-wheel disc brakes mean you can drive it confidently on the road and the undercarriage shows off what years of clean living and a high-end restoration can do for a vintage Corvette. Finishing the look are a set of American Racing Torque Thrust polished wheels, wrapped in staggered 205/60/16 front and 225/60/16 rear Goodyear Eagle radials with plenty of grip.

1963 Corvettes are still highly-sought for their first-year appeal, and with split-windows usually stealing the show and running up prices, roadsters like this remain very affordable alternatives. With a built 327 V8, lots of performance features, and a great color combination, this Corvette is a sure winner. Call today!
