Description
Introduced in 1967, the Plymouth GTX offered buyers both luxury and performance from the extensive B-body lineup. As such, only the largest engines within the Mopar portfolio were fitted to these cars, along with a variety of standard equipment. Unique styling elements included a revised grill, hood scoops, and a "pit-stop" gas cap. After a redesign in 1968, which adopted the handsome coke-bottle shape seen across the range of Chrysler Corporation products, the GTX arrived standard with the 440-cubic-inch V-8 engine and a three-speed TorqueFlite transmission.
This car, a 1969 Plymouth GTX Convertible, is believed to be one of just 700 drop-tops produced in 1969 and is a genuine, matching number car.

Now finished in an impactful Rally Red over white color combination with a contrasting white convertible top, the car also features a set of polished 15-inch Ridler wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich white lettered tires. The clean white interior features bucket seats with headrests, a center console, floor shifter and a 150-mph speedometer. The original AM push-button radio is still in the dash, however a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player is hidden in the glovebox.
Under hood is a number matching 440 Super Commando engine paired with TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. The engine bay is detailed and original in appearance including power steering, power brakes and the super-cool factory Air Grabber induction system. The consignor claims Only 318 miles have been put on this rare GTX since it was restored and it drives beautifully.
