COOL CHEVY & TRUE SS! 283 V8, AUTO TRANS, POWER FRONT DISCS, GREAT COLORS!

Some cars can feel like time machines, and this Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is absolutely 1964. But if you dig a bit deeper, there are a few subtle upgrades that make all the difference on this real-deal Super Sport.

This is the first year for the Chevelle, and so you're looking at a car that launched the legend. So this has all the right elements you love, like the pillarless hardtop profile, big chrome bumpers, and sporty kick-up curve behind the door. It only gets better on an up-market Malibu trim. Noticing the extra chrome in places like the lower rockers and the rear can identify Chevelle Malibus like this one. And while the SS badging helps you identify this as a Super Sport the upgraded 15-inch Rally wheels and large dual exhaust tips also add to that SS-style flair. The burgundy paint stays close to 1964's Palomar Red, and so it's an upgrade that doesn't look out of place. The impression that you really want to take away from the finish is that it represents exactly what's great but a driver-quality classic. It has a good metallic element that makes people take notice, but you'll never feel it's too fancy to hop in and go for a cruise. So it's the kind of classic that ...

So it's the kind of classic that makes you want to enjoy it to the fullest.

The front bucket seats with a center console in-between make this a proper Super Sport, and having the full interior finished in black really seems to get the attitude right. Just like any good 1960's car, this sea of darkness is given plenty of nice brightwork touches on places like the door panels, dash, and steering wheel. All of this feels very original right down to the heater controls. But a second glance at the radio reveals it's an upgraded AM/FM unit with a digital tuner. And the auxiliary gauge trio and later Chevy sports steering wheel are there to make this a stronger driver's coupe.

Under this hood is a 283 cubic-inch V8, and it's one of those great powerplants that help us celebrate the dawn of the small block era. Having the correct JD suffix code could mean this is the original motor that came in the car. This one looks particularly nice with smooth inner walls, a bright Chevy Orange block, polished valve covers, and a matching air grabber. Plus, this one was upgraded for added power with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers. And you'll love how the upgraded cam not only adds performance but a sweet tune to the dual exhaust. On the road, the Chevelle's legendary smooth ride combined with the Powerglide automatic transmission, power brakes, upgraded front discs, and wide Cooper Cobra tires make this SS a fine cruising package.

This first-year Malibu SS has the right style and upgrades to be your favorite classic cruiser. So don't miss your chance to take it home. Call today!
