With its ultra-appealing paint scheme, fresh, well-detailed interior and potent, period correct drivetrain, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro would no doubt make its presence strongly felt on the local car show circuit. This classic represents one of those fairly rare instances where featured driving experience and curb appeal are in very good synchronization, leading to both great times behind the wheel and countless nods of admiration as you cruise past.
The Camaro was a relatively late entry into the muscle car wars of the mid-'60s, but it more than made up for its delayed arrival with sheer style. With its relatively low profile and wide track, Chevy dubbed it the hugger - a nickname that was reinforced by its agility on the road. The model quickly became a “must have” with performance-minded car buyers and this specimen, with its seldom-seen deep brown paint ornamented by broad black stripes running the lengths of its hood and deck lid, captures its vintage magic in all its glory. The paint is in stellar shape, with a deep shine and a smooth texture. Description
The model quickly became a "must have" with performance-minded car buyers and this specimen, with its seldom-seen deep brown paint ornamented by broad black stripes running the lengths of its hood and deck lid, captures its vintage magic in all its glory. The paint is in stellar shape, with a deep shine and a smooth texture. Those black stripes sit underneath clearcoat to create a uniform luster that sets this muscle car apart and its vinyl top is in great shape - well-fitted, with no bubbling in sight. Those finishing touches that make such a big difference in a classic's visual impact have been well-looked after - this Chevy's exterior alignment appears precise, its brightwork really clean and both the front air dam and rear spoiler are well-positioned and in top form.
Inside the doors, the black interior features the same high standards. Climb in and take a good look around - you won't find much, if any evidence of wear in this cockpit. The pair of low backed front buckets have yet to develop any creasing at all as they straddle a center console in matching condition. The theme here is uniformly vintage, with just a couple of add-ons blended into the mix in the form of a pair of aftermarket SunPro gauges at the front of the center console, just below an AM/FM/Cassette stereo installed in the dash that combines with a Panasonic multi-CD changer - you'll have no shortage of audio options in this classic. The instrument cluster is another strong feature, with its clear factory gauges and a fresh, unsplit pad running across the top. In back, the trunk area is also very solid, with a fresh rubber seal sitting just below the deck lid to keep the elements out and a full size spare inside.
The engine compartment is just as nicely detailed as you'd expect, given the condition of the rest of the car, and harbors a strong running, period correct 350 cubic inch V8. The array of spotless chrome components and freshly painted surfaces combine to really make for a showstopping overall appearance. The powerplant is armed with a 4-barrel carb and exhales into a pair of aftermarket headers, teaming with a smooth-shifting 3-speed automatic transmission to form a rock-solid drivetrain. An HEI ignition has also been added to up the available spark. The power steering on this Chevy is functioning in top form, which makes for easy navigation and with power brakes at all four corners - with discs up front - the stops come quick and easy. A set of 15" steel wheels wearing Chevy branded centers and wrapped in Galaxy tires adds just the right finishing touch.
Running very strong and looking great, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro would be an outstanding acquisition for any classic car enthusiast who prizes both curb appeal and driving experience. Call today!
