With its one of a kind profile, high impact color scheme and long, cool form, this 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ Tribute would already be considered a jewel of a classic by any measure, but factor in the fact that it's served just one owner for 40 years, with that owner being a GM tech who always prioritized keeping it in top notch condition and that takes things even further - this lengthy classic represents one exceedingly rare opportunity.

Under the direction of automotive industry icon John DeLorean, some big changes came about the very year this '69 debuted. It received a striking , conversation worthy grille and its long form was dressed with much bolder styling that included more pronounced contours and a more sloping rear roofline, as well as the longest hood ever worn by a Pontiac, resulting in a ride that looked unlike any other car on the road. Get up close and you can see that it shows all the signs of consistent sheltering - its dramatic two tone black and white paint is well-preserved, with a strong shine and a consistently smooth texture. Despite its substantial wheelbase, this is a nimble looking car and its lowered stance confers a nice touch of customization without taking things so far as to cause clearance issues during everyday driving. That long hood features one of GM's most revolutionary styling cues - a hood mounted tach - and unlike many of its counterparts, this one is in good working order.

A sizable portion of the interior has received substantial refurbishment while retaining a thorough authentic appearance, so as you enter, you'll be surrounded by one seriously cool driving environment. The front buckets and rear bench seat wear well-fitted black vinyl covers and sit over an expanse of carpeting with no blemishes in sight, bracketing a factory center console that's also in clean condition. For a cockpit equipped with such vintage authenticity, the level of functionality inside the doors is downright impressive, the factory gauges are still clear and readable, the factory air conditioning system blows cold and strong and the original AM/FM radio still works without issue. To each side, the door panels are in great shape and the collection of burlwood trim really looks sharp. Owing to this Pontiac's substantial wheelbase, there's quite a bit of real estate separating the rows of seating, so your backseat passengers will have no trouble getting comfortable.

Everything's looking clean and well-detailed under the hood, where a period correct 428 cubic inch V8 waits eagerly to fire up and get on the road. Armed with a 4-barrel carb and intake that appear to have been recently installed, the engine pulls with plenty of enthusiasm and, with an added cam, sends the perfect note out through its Flowmaster mufflers. The engine pairs with a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly, so there's nothing to stop you from getting the good times under way just as soon as you get this classic home. Coil springs at all four corners smooth out the bumps on the road, power steering makes for easy navigation and power brakes that include discs up front bring dependable stops as this vintage Pontiac cruises on its set of 15" American Racing wheels outfitted with BF Goodrich tires. Below, the undercarriage is in very solid condition.

This 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ Tribute is one long cool ride and its history of attentive care positions it for many more future miles of driving enjoyment. Call today!
