The suspension is a bit more stout than a typical Galaxie 500, with the XL featuring independent front suspension with upper and lower A-arms, coil springs, and a sway bar, while the rear uses coil springs, trailing arms, and shocks. Stopping power comes from front power disc brakes and rear power drum brakes. The Ford rides on 17-inch aftermarket wheels wrapped in 225/50R17 Falken ZIEX tires. Keeping things mostly stock are the exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust, and stock-style mufflers.
