390 V8, 3SPD AUTO, PWR STEER/BRAKE, CLEAN IN/OUT, CLASSY & COOL, RETRO DROPTOP!!

The 1961 Ford Thunderbird seems to hit that sweet spot in classics. The design of these third-gen T-birds have the sleek lines, plenty of room to carry everyone, and this one has been invested in heavily to make it's an award-winner. Best of all, the price is irresistible.

This is about showcasing that brief time in automotive history when designers ruled over engineers, and they got to build the cars they wanted. It starts with a sleekly rounded hood that ends at a point to give the Thunderbird a true beak. There's a chrome line that fully runs from the front point to the tailfin. Those jet-inspired taillights that are prominent thanks to a bright bumper that tapers inwards. Plus, when you have the full bright work looking this good, and there was a professional respray of the 1961-correct metallic silver, this drop top looks like a '60s dream car. That's probably why it already won so many awards (call for the list.) In fact, you can really tell that they have made big investments in restoring this convertible. So it has terrific details like a new black convertible top that coordinates with the silver paint, wide whitewall tires, and genuine Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. Plus, ... Description

Plus, some of our pictures show a very cool matching silver tonneau cover that goes over the back seats. No, this is not one of the ultra-rare Sports Roadster models (they were born in '62.) Instead, this one offers the versatility of a back seat and a much more reasonable price. But you can still wow your friends with the removable fiberglass cover when you want.

If you like the way the black top looks against the silver paint, then you'll love the full coordination of the factory-correct black interior. Bucket seats and a center console have a feeling of high-end luxury. The beautiful round gauges have an elegant look with each in their own pod. The band of anodized aluminum trim stretching across the dash and into the doors adds some nice flair. When the tonneau cover is off there's plenty of room in back for full-sized adults. This one has great features like power windows and a retrosound radio that keep the vintage appearance but now offers an AM/FM digital tuner. Plus, the T-bird's Swing-Away steering column not only makes getting in easy, but also it's cool feature that real enthusiasts know to look for.

Just like the exterior, the engine bay is a terrific mix of bright silver paint and even brighter polished components. While they retained correct details – right down to the classic-style battery and Ford washer bag – there's also some great period-correct upgrades. After all, it should make a Ford lover a little weak in the knees by the sight of the long Holman Moody air topper and matching valve covers. More than just appearance pieces, this 390 cubic-inch V8 backs up its performance look with upgrades like an Edelbrock 600 CFM four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock performance intake. Plus, with a huge list of the right maintenance items (please call for full details) this powerful Thunderbird fires up with gusto and cruises all day with ease. Features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front all work in harmony to help keep the ride luxurious.

The sale comes with all the right paperwork, including owner's manual, restoration photos, service manuals, maintenance records, and full details on the work it took to make it such a cut-above classic. So at a price like this, you know you need to hurry if you want to take this home. Call now!
