RECENTLY RESTORED FJ40 CRUISER, 4.2L I6, 4-SPEED, POWER BRAKES, DRIVE OR SHOW!!

Oh, the stories this 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser could likely tell. It comes to us all the way from Colombia and was thoroughly restored before landing in the States. This surefooted classic looks great both inside and out and that legendary Toyota dependability is in full effect here - this classic is ready for asphalt and trail alike just as soon as you get it home.

Exacting, skilled workmanship leaves clues and you can see upon closer inspection that there were no shortcuts taken in bringing this '78 back to top form. It was taken all the way down to the metal before a striking shade of red was applied - the paint looks particularly smooth and even. Black accenting surrounding the headlights in front and a set of great looking black steel wheels provide just the right amount of contrast. Take a lap around and you'll see it looks fresh from every angle - its stock badging is nice and sharp, new mirrors and brackets take their place on its sides and newly installed brackets have the doors lining up nicely with the rest of the car. The black manual convertible top appears to have been recently replaced and features clear windows on all sides, with red accenting surrounding the rear ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

The black manual convertible top appears to have been recently replaced and features clear windows on all sides, with red accenting surrounding the rear doors that ties in well with the exterior color. That perfect elevated stance provides plenty of wheel clearance for tackling off road obstacles, and with a full size spare on board in back, this import classic looks very much ready for action.

A very extensive refurbishment has left the interior looking just as it did when it first went into service, with a pair of gray buckets up front that sport very clean, well-fitted gray vinyl covers and offer plenty of padding for comfort as they sit over rubber matting - an indication that the primary focus here is on stylish yet practical vintage functionality. Flush fitting door panels on each side blend perfectly with the seating and carry door mounted speakers to bring audio into the cabin. The pair of matching jump seats in back echo that same action-ready theme and are in top form as well. A new looking roll cage looms over the cabin to provide an extra measure of safety and wears paint to match both inside and out - a nice finishing touch. The original steering wheel still holds its place on the column, just in front of a dash area that's also looking its best, with clear, functional gauges residing in the silver-tinged instrument panel and a pair of newly installed dash pads on top.

A lot of work also went into bringing the engine bay back to its best. Every hose looks fresh and supple, every wire looks properly routed, and a crisply painted red firewall and inner fenders surround a 4.2 liter inline 6, which is almost certainly the original engine. It's running great and teams with a 4-speed manual transmission whose shifter sits side by side with its counterpart, ready to unleash this Toyota's 4-wheel drive surefootedness. Power brakes bring prompt stops as this classic navigates both asphalt and less forgiving terrain on its set of 33x12.5x15 super sharp black steel wheels outfitted with Runway Enduro M/T tires. A look below will reveal that the undercarriage is in very solid condition - more than ready for plenty of future miles of spirited motoring.

You don't often see restorations as exacting as the one lavished upon this 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser - it's running strong, looking great and ready to stand out from the SUV crowd with its undeniable vintage appeal. Call today!
