Old trucks are popular for a lot of reasons: they look cool, they pack V8 power, and they can still do some work on weekends, making them a great way to justify owning a vintage vehicle. This 1965 Ford F-100 seems happy to do whatever you ask: it runs great, it looks like an old truck should look, and it doesn't mind hauling your stuff.
Dressed in Light Blue paint (not on the color chart for F-100s in 1965, but certainly an upgrade over the drab original Holly Green), this Ford gets attention but isn't so perfect that you can't use it every day, even on the job site. It's an older paint job and it's obviously showing some age after all these years, but the white cab-top over the light blue body look is pretty timeless and highlights the unusual fender lines on this 4th generation F-100. Despite some signs of use, it shines up well and you'll be proud to roll into the cruise night behind the wheel. It doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked or rusty, and the white contrast on the bumpers, grille, and 'Ford' tailgate lettering really helps the truck pop. Other than the door handles, mirrors, and gas cap, there's no real brightwork to speak of, but the big 'Ford Twin I-Beam' badges on the ... Please ask for the full description.

Description
Other than the door handles, mirrors, and gas cap, there's no real brightwork to speak of, but the big 'Ford Twin I-Beam' badges on the fenders definitely draw the eye. Out back you have a bed that's covered in black spray-in bedliner, and the lack of any major dents or chips shows that this truck has never had to work hard for a living. But it's still more than capable and because it's built Ford tough, you can still use this truck as intended without worrying about scratching some beautiful dance floor.
Black upholstery always works well with the blue paint inside the cab and you'll find this truck hasn't changed much since 1965. The bench seat is wrapped with a period-perfect vinyl cover that cleans things up a bit inside, and everywhere you look, things are original and durable. The big white steering wheel and column-mounted shifter for the 3-speed manual transmission are ideal for a vintage pickup, while the big all-in-one gauge packs all the essential instruments, neatly embossed inside a bright white panel that continues the two-tone color combination and really shines things up inside. Durable vinyl mats on the floor below means clean-up is easy, neatly painted door panels at the flanks do a great job of making things look a bit more sophisticated inside, and there's even a white headliner up top that ties everything together perfectly. Simple, plain, and clean, this no frills interior gets the job done without a lot of fuss.
Ford's rugged and torquey 292 cubic inch V8 lives under this F-100's hood and it does a great job of making it feel quick around town. With remnants of light blue enamel still on the block, it's a stock presentation that also features black valve covers, an original black air cleaner, and a minimum of add-ons for better reliability. In fact, other than your usual maintenance items and a modern battery, everything pretty much looks just like it would've in 1965, albeit with a little extra grime. Turn the key and it fires up easily with a throaty burble from the updated single exhaust, which features an original-style chambered tube muffler. It's been well maintained and doesn't get fussy out on the road, mostly because there's a beefy radiator up front and the hardware has been proven for decades. The 3-speed manual shifts nicely and clutch action is reasonable for a truck, so you won't mind driving it every chance you get. It's original but very solid underneath, showcasing a lifetime in the warm south, and nothing has been modified or altered so it'll be easy to maintain. A Ford 9-inch rear end should last virtually forever and it sits on painted steel wheels adorned with Ford 'baby moon' hubcaps, all of which are wrapped in 215/75/15 whitewall radials to help with the sporty demeanor.
This is not some perfect show truck, but if you're looking for a survivor-grade pickup with a lot of style, this is a fine example. With good maintenance and conscientious ownership throughout the years, you can drive this 'ol bruiser with confidence for years to come. Call today!
