VERY SLICK & PROFESSIONALLY BUILT! 5.3LS V8, TH400 AUTO, WILWOOD DISC BRKS, WOW!

Camaros, Mustangs, and Chevelles are great, but if you want to go fast and stay a bit more under the radar, something like this cool 1971 Chevrolet Nova Restomod might be a better choice. I get it, 'restomod' and 'under-the-radar' aren't really concepts that you see together too often, but the more I look at this Nova, the more apt I find that very description to be. Chevy Novas took a backseat to the other household names I mentioned earlier, so even when they're beautifully built with slick paint, a custom interior, and a beastly LS engine atop a tubbed chassis like this particular example, they still seem to take us by surprise. Well, until you hear that rumble when the taps are wide open, because by then the secret is out: this Nova Restomod was built to take over.

If you're going to build a machine with this kind of performance, you're going to need to make a memorable aesthetic statement. To that point, the builders concentrated on getting the body laser straight, added an aggressive steel cowl hood, mini-tubbed the rear, and then covered it with layer after layer of Marina Blue paint. The Nova is always a great choice for a brute-force experiment like this, with a sturdy body ... Please ask for the full description.

The Nova is always a great choice for a brute-force experiment like this, with a sturdy body structure, plenty of room under the hood, and a relatively light curb weight, and the 2-door post sedan is the right choice for channeling horsepower. Fit and finish are above average, particularly for a car with this much performance, and the higher-end driver-quality paint is so fresh that you can almost smell it. They avoided any obnoxious SS stripes, kept the badging and trim to a minimum, and let the bright blue paint do all that talking while adding to the car's rather subtle look. You'll also note that the chrome that was retained for the build is in great shape, in particular the heavy-duty bumpers fore and aft, and that iconic blacked-out grille up front.

These cars often feature bare-bones interiors in the interest of saving weight, but the fully finished passenger compartment of this Nova is simply impressive especially considering a sizeable portion of it was left stock. This includes the dash and dash pad, door panels, headliner, and rear seat. But it's not a full blow stocker inside either, starting with the sculpted Procar bucket seats up front, the B&M shifter that splits them, and the Grant GT steering wheel at the helm of the cockpit. Fresh black vinyl upholstery was wrapped around all the soft stuff inside, including the original rear seat that offers plenty of room for some friends. Black is the perfect complement for the high-impact blue exterior, but the lower part of the dash was color-matched to break things up a bit inside. A full slate of Dakota Digital gauges were installed in the stock instrument panel – as they provide a more accurate eye on the LS motor under the hood – and an Old Air A/C system was installed under the dash, although it still needs to be charged before it will work to cool the cabin. Everything is beautifully finished and the level of finish is quite impressive, and the cabin feels tight and well-insulated thanks to the Dynamat lining on the floors, doors, and pillars. Even the trunk is tidy, finished off with the same black carpets found inside the car.

The swapped-in 5.3L LS V8 Vortec engine sits proudly in the Nova's beautifully finished engine bay, and thanks to the skilled hands at West Machine Shop, it's robustly built and looks like it always belonged under the cowl hood. Tuned by the pros at Texas LSX, this balanced and blueprinted LS features a long list of performance goodies including forged pistons and rods, C&C heads, and a big Comp cam, valve springs, and trunnions. With a Holley Sniper EFI throttle-body up top, a new Trailblazer SS intake, Holley valve covers, and a Holley oil pan underneath, it's no secret where the horsepower is coming from. With a fresh tune and only 122 miles on the build, it's fairly docile for having all that horsepower on tap, and thanks to the professional build, it's got the supporting hardware to make it reliable. There's a big aluminum radiator up front, a big cone filter, a new steering box, and a set of ceramic-coated long-tube headers feeding an X-pipe dual exhaust that sounds spectacular. The suspension was fully rebuilt and carries lots of fresh hardware including new tubular A-arms, adjustable shocks, Cal-track mono-leaf springs, and Cal-track traction bars, while the beefed-up TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is freshly built with a shift kit and spins the Ford 9-inch posi-traction rear end out back. 4-wheel disc brakes provide impressive stopping power and the classic big-and-little look is punctuated by those killer alloy wheels and Firestone rubber.

Sure, there's always more in the car than a driver can get out of it, but with this Nova, astounding performance is quite accessible no matter who you are, and the brilliant finish quality makes it a pleasure to drive when you're not running hard. Call today!
