Inside, we find the traditional no-frills Cobra interior. Dual bucket seats are separated by a big transmission tunnel, topped by a signature reverse-angle shifter. A three-spoke, wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a five-pod VDO gauge cluster that takes up residence center-dash, featuring an 8,000 rpm tachometer and quirky-but-correct Shelby-style reversed 180 mph speedometer, and sharing space with a series of toggle switches and HVAC knobs. Door pockets, racing harnesses, and a driver's roll hoop round out the accoutrements of this speedy Spartan interior.

Under that signature front-hinged hood, we find an incredible 400 cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 engine. Featuring rare 4-V cylinder heads with stainless steel 2.19 intake and 1.71 exhaust valves to go along with Crane roller rockers and Rhodes lifters. A single Holley 750 Double-Pumper carburetor sits on top of an Edelbrock Hi-Rise Torquer intake manifold, while long-tube headers, and, of course, those stellar side pipes. Power is routed through a classic four-speed Toploader manual transmission before being sent out to the 3.50-geared posi-traction nine-inch rear end. Fifteen-inch knock-off-style wheels are shod with BFGoodrich tires measuring P225/60R-15 at the front and wider P295/50R-15 at the rear.
