SUPERCHARGED 502CI BOG BLOCK, DUAL 4BBL CARBS, OLD SCHOOL CENTERLINE WHEELS, SUBFRAME CONNECTORS

There is just something about seeing a blower sticking up through the hood of an old-school muscle car that gets the blood pumping like nothing else. It also helps when that car is as well done as this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged. Fully repainted in its original Butternut Yellow and complemented by its single black hood stripe, this car has been significantly modified from its production form to create the drag-ready demon you see here.

Inside, it's hard not to notice the addition of a roll cage first and foremost. But, once past that, we find a set of supportive and comfortable bucket seats, designed to hold both the driver and passenger firmly in place. A small, fat-rimmed, four-spoke Grant GT steering wheel sits in front of an array of supplemental gauges, arranged and installed with one goal in mind – winning the race. A 20 psi boost gauge works in conjunction with a larger 8,000 rpm tachometer and a more easily visible fuel gauge, all mounted to the steering column and provided by AutoMeter. A triplet of auxiliary gauges also sits at the bottom of the wood-grain trimmed center stack, beneath the sliding HVAC controls and AM/FM/Cassette head unit, just in case you wanted to hear something other than the rumble of the exhaust.

Under and coming through the hood, we find a massive supercharged 502 cubic-inch V-8 engine. A dual-quad arrangement of QFT carburetors, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, and, of course, that monster B&M blower feed into a set of lightweight aluminum heads actuated by a performance camshaft designed to give this car its distinctive lopey idle. Long tube headers connect with a big dual exhaust, capped off with a set of FlowMaster mufflers. That supercharged power is routed through a built TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, featuring a finned aluminum pan and linelock, before heading out to the stout Dana 44 rear end, which transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of 15-inch Centerline aluminum wheels shod in Mickey Thompson ET Street tires measuring 275/60R-15. Up front, a narrower set of power-assisted 205/60R-15 Toyo Extensa AS tires do their best to handle steering duties.

This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged rides on a race-ready suspension that features an independent front end, while the rear is comprised of two-piece composite leaf springs with QA1 adjustable coilovers and CalTracs in the rear. A set of full-length subframe connectors helps this Camaro's chassis keep from being twisted into oblivion by the tremendous torque from that blown big block up front.
