383 STROKER V8, 4 SPEED MANUAL, PFD, P/S, P/W, GORGEOUS RESTORATION, AMAZING!

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air was built with care to be a unique machine. There are power car features like the well-built stroker V8 and four-on-the-floor. But the overall style also likes to be a slick cruiser considering it was meticulously restored by two people with 60 years of experience working on classics. And there are even fun extras, like the power windows. So while this Tri-Five defies the usual labels, we can think of one word that sums it up: awesome.

The '56 Chevy has remained the enduring motoring icon because of how well it represented what we wanted in the 1950s. That means daring colors, plenty of chrome, and rocket-inspired designs – and this one does it best. The first part of this distinction is the two-tone. The Crocus Yellow and Onyx Black are a period-correct combo that really knows how to attract attention. And the way the Bel Air line has that harpoon of color running the full profile is an exclusive touch for this year that no factory would ever dare try again. And it looks terrific with the black streak running up the side. It's part of an aggressive style that's continued on the lowered stance and Corvette rally wheel with a nice 15/16-inch front/rear ... It's part of an aggressive style that's continued on the lowered stance and Corvette rally wheel with a nice 15/16-inch front/rear stagger. Oh yes, this looks like a powerful car. But there's beauty within the brawn. This was given a full frame-off restoration about 7200 miles ago, but you might think it was just 72 miles ago. The gloss of the finish, the fit of the panels, and the brilliance of the brightwork are all part of an award-worthy package. Even the headlights were upgraded so the full presentation would be gleaming. So while you're going to see plenty of details that make this Bel Air a fast-mover, you'll also appreciate cruising slowly just so everyone can get all the extended looks they want.

The interior coordinates with the exterior in its two-tone yellow and black. And just like the exterior, the full package is fresh, detailed, and terrific. So you get plenty of bright trim, door panels that mimic the exterior style line, a smooth padded dash, working dome light, and clean new glass. There are thoughtful additions that are well-integrated, like the power windows and a classic-style AM/FM radio. We particularly like how they hid the auxiliary readouts behind the classic tissue box. There are more great driver-oriented pieces, and they all have the feeling of the kind of upgrades you would have gotten when building a street machine in the American Graffiti era. This includes a classic Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel, a horizon tach, and a Hurst shifter.

The engine bay continues this Chevy's fresh and vintage sense of style. The Corvette script valve covers, 327 callouts, and even the classic Delco battery topper make this look like it borrowed a small block setup from a C2 Corvette. So it's a true hot rod style, but it's actually even more powerful than its first impression. This is really a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. It's fully built with Edelbrock aluminum heads, a GM Winter's aluminum intake, and a Corvette 30/30 solid cam. It's a terrific powerhouse that makes a sweet rumble out of the custom X-pipe dual exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission with a Ram clutch gives you firm control of the power and its soundtrack. It feeds into a 3.08 Positraction rear end for good all-around driving. As you look at this full package in the undercarriage photos, you can see an ultra-clean style with even the red undercoat paint. This tidy and meticulous appearance even in a place few people see should let you know they took their time to get this build right. So it drives with solid confidence. And power steering, power brakes, front discs, and Goodyear tires make for an easy all-around cruiser.

This is an impressive total build that loves to take this 1956 icon and make it look like a 1960s street machine... but the truth is it's really much better in every way. It makes for a unique kind of build that you never knew was out there, but now that you know, you'll never forget it. Call today!!!
