Description

SINISTER BLACK RS CAMARO, BUILT 350CI, DUMP HUMP HEADS, GREAT LOOK!

You'll note that we have a hard time keeping 1969 Camaros in stock, particularly black ones like this. With that in mind, if you're looking for one with a snarling small block, awesome houndstooth interior, and a look that dares other cars to race, perhaps you should call now instead of finishing reading this.

Black Camaros are quite possibly our #1 best-sellers for good reason: they look positively awesome. You want street cred? A black F-body is a great way to get it. You want front-row parking at the next cruise night? This black RS coupe will deliver. It keeps with the factory formula, since it's hard to improve on the timeless design (even the factory copied it four decades later), but the execution is quite good. The black paint is recent and hugs some very straight sheetmetal that has enjoyed the ministrations of some talented body men. There's the usual cowl-induction hood, as well as spoilers fore and aft, plus white SS stripes just in case you thought this car isn't arresting enough. The RS package added a set of concealed headlights, but other than the RS emblems front and rear, the car is thoroughly de-badged. Shiny chrome bumpers flank the car at both ends, adding a shiny bit of punctuation to the all-black storyline.

The houndstooth interior has been subtly upgraded to make for a better driving experience. The factory buckets wear fresh reproduction seat covers and the door panels are excellent repros, too. The rosewood steering wheel's slightly fatter rim gives it away as an aftermarket unit, but after you experience how it feels in your hands, you won't want to go back to skinny plastic. Experts will point out that the center console is technically for a 4-speed, but the shifter for the TH400 3-speed automatic fits neatly and looks right. Factory gauges remain in the dash, but down low on the console is one trick tach, which not only includes a shift light but also coolant temperature, oil temperature, and oil pressure gauges on its face. How cool is that? A new Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo sounds great inside the handsome interior, with new 6x9 speakers on the rear deck. The ultra-clean trunk takes it a step above stock by going with plush black carpets instead of plastic mats, which helps control noise and heat.

Horsepower comes easy thanks to a built 350 cubic inch V8. Edelbrock supplied the intake and 4-barrel carb, which live atop a freshened 1972 block with 1966 "double-hump" heads. Chevy Orange paint keeps it looking right under the hood, and a bit of chrome dress-up never hurts. There's a recent alternator, new hoses and clamps, and a fresh master cylinder so you know it's ready to run. The aforementioned TH400 transmission carries a 2800 RPM stall converter and a shift kit, and for the ultimate in durability on the street or strip, there's a custom Ford 9-inch rear filled with easy-cruising 3.00 gears. Long-tube headers and a fresh Flowmaster dual exhaust system give it an awesome voice, and with subframe connectors and traction bars, you know a trip or two down the 1320 is in your future. Slick 17-inch Torque Thrusts sparkle against the black paint and wear 215/45/17 front and 235/45/17 rear performance radials.

It's a '69 Camaro and it's black, so it won't last long. If you like what you see, please don't hesitate and call today!
