With the new Jeep Gladiator here, it's nice to take a long look at the last pickup of Jeeps. In fact, this 1989 Jeep Comanche is not only in premium Eliminator trim, but there have been plenty of more recent investments to make sure this has a shining style, loaded interior, cold-blowing A/C, and an intimidating stance. It makes for a mix of stylish, comfortable, and functional classic truck that's irresistible at this affordable price.
The Comanche was a cool pickup. It shared the beefy lines of the Cherokee SUV, and we know how well those XJs are appreciating today. It is believed that the odometer reflects the full mileage, but you can also tell that this one has been given some solid investments to keep it looking newer. The red was given a proper respray to make sure this has a good gloss that shows off the well-preserved and well-creased sheet metal. It gives this truck a premium style, and that's what the Eliminator was all about. The color-matched fender flares, detailed rocker stripes, color-matched grille, and premium alloy wheels were part of this trim level that was both upper-class and sporty. Plus, investments in the last few years have kept this cool classic quite functional, including the lifted suspension and full spray-in bedliner.
Everything from the confident action of the doors to the classic Jeep textured cloth insert of the seat gives the interior the feeling of a well-respected pickup. But just like the exterior, this one also wants to remain a useful and easy driver. So you have nice premium features, like cold-blowing air conditioning, a sliding rear window, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, cup holders, power windows, power locks, and clean tinted glass. Bucket seats, a center console in-between, a well-placed shifter, full gauges with tach, and the classic Jeep steering wheel is on a tilt column to really let you know the Eliminator-level trim was made to feel like a true driver. In total, it shows they've taken the time to make the overall impression inside is like a premium time capsule, and we find that irresistible.
Under the hood is a correct 4.0-liter motor. This inline-six was derived from the tough-as-nails AMC line of motors, and so you get durability and economy. Factory electronic fuel injection only enhances this reputation. Plus, everything from the belts to the muffler looks like it has been properly serviced. So this one fires up and runs with the kind of gusto that reaffirms the feeling of a quality investment. And we especially like the control of the five-speed manual transmission. Power steering, power brakes, front discs, and newer tires make this one good for all occasions.
This is the classic Jeep pickup that's capable, cool, and comfortable. So it's amazing you can find an example of this caliber for such an affordable price. Call today!!!
