Fully restored and stuffed full of 350 cubic inches of V8 thunder, this 1985 Jeep CJ-7 is a lean, mean, off-roading machine that delivers on Jeep's promise of “go-anywhere” fun. Featuring a 4-speed gearbox, great options like power steering, power front disc brakes, and even A/C, it's not your typical rough-and-tumble vintage Jeep. The only thing that'll keep you off the trails in this one is the fact that with a high-quality restoration, it's almost too nice to take it out among the rocks.
Lots of cash went into this ultra-clean Jeep build and you can see it everywhere you look. It certainly isn't subtle with that big lift, flashy wheels, and gorgeous Dark Green Metallic finish, and since its purpose is to attract attention, the builders – the legends over at Toy Box Jeeps – really went the extra mile to get it everything done the right way. It was completely disassembled, the frame was pressure blasted, sealed, and then painted classic black, while each piece of the body was completely repainted piece-by-piece, covered in five coats of base color and then five coats of clearcoat. And the results speak for themselves, just take a look at how laser-straight that body is and how the lights ... Please ask for the full description.

And the results speak for themselves, just take a look at how laser-straight that body is and how the lights in our photo-booth reflect off the paint. With only 4622 miles on the build, it's one of the straightest, cleanest CJ's we've ever featured, and if you're familiar with Streetside you'll know that's a pretty bold statement. No Jeep is perfect, mind you, but this CJ is WAY nicer than most off-roaders usually are and clearly it was built for love, not money. Xenon Flare extensions offer protection from the oversized tires and a subtle gold pinstripe decal adds just a little contrast to this eyeball-searing rig. Other new gear includes a Kentrol stainless steel package (side mirrors, door hardware, rocker panel molding, etc.), Smitty Built bumpers and side stepbars, an 8K lb Warn winch mounted between a pair of FRT fog lights, and a full Pro Comp spare mounted out back. Wrangler half-doors were painted to match the body and when installed with the new Bestop tan soft top, the cabin is secure from the elements – making this an all-season CJ-7 ready for anything and everything.
Inside, this CJ-7 is almost too nice to take in the dirt, with tan Rugged Ridge Super Seats up front and a matching rear bench, all of which look like they've seen nothing scarier than a dusty pair of jeans in the handful of miles since this rig was built. A fully bedlined tub insulates the floors and makes clean-up a breeze, a locking center console provides security and includes a tan arm rest stitched to match the seats, and the tan Wrangler half-doors tie everything together quite nicely. The steel dash was painted Dark Green to match the exterior, topped with a black dash pad, and houses a full complement of new, stock-spec gauges along with a trio of AutoMeter auxiliary units, including a clock to the left of the steering wheel and tachometer to its right – a factory arrangement that denotes an upmarket trim level. All the knobs, switches, and chrome accents on the dash are new as well, so the command center really sparkles, and a new HVAC system was cleverly installed underneath meaning this is one of the rare Jeeps equipped with both cold A/C and hot heat. A leather-rimmed Grant steering wheel at the helm of the cockpit was mounted atop a tilt column to account for drivers of just about any size, while the shifters for the 4-speed manual and 2-speed transfer case are a short reach away. New shoulder belts up front and lapbelts in the rear add safety, as does the wrapped-and-padded roll bar up top.
The new 350 V8 Goodwrench crate engine is a neat fit under the hood, almost as if they were destined to be together. Topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, an HEI ignition, and block-hugging headers, and new components everywhere you look, it's clear the builders wanted better performance and reliability. An aluminum radiator and serpentine belt system running the accessories all help too, and thanks to an awesome power-to-weight ratio, the performance is very impressive. The rebuilt T-176 4-speed handles all the added power with ease, spinning rebuilt driveshafts into equally rebuilt differentials, and thanks to a 4-inch ProComp lift and Warrior reverse shackles this CJ can conquer just about anything. A Flowmaster dual exhaust vastly improves the soundtrack, while options like power steering and power front discs mean it's also easy to handle on the street. Note how clean the undercarriage is (an extreme rarity for a vintage Jeep), with new components and protective black paint everywhere you look, and the brand-new ProComp alloys wrapped in 35x12.5x15 BFGoodrich A/Ts finish off the look perfectly.
So don't sweat it, this overhauled CJ-7 has you covered. Lots of power, awesome good looks, fresh parts from end-to-end, all ready to hit the trail. On the other hand, it's just so pretty that it would be a shame to dirty it up. Call today!
