RARE S-22, ERA CORRECT 260 V8, C4, FRONT DISC, POWER STEERING, UPDATED INTERIOR!

This 1963 Mercury Comet S-22 was born as a premium range-topping cruiser, and so it's great to have that attitude enhanced with custom exterior details and a modern luxury leather interior. And when you add in a V8 that was made to be enjoyed, you know you've found a terrific head-turning drop-top.

This Comet has a great classic look. The bodywork is quite straight, the chrome bumpers are bright, and the red paint has a good gloss to show off the well-presented curves. The hint of tailfin was a great design of the jet age that we love on a lot of classics. But Mercury took this theme a step further. After all, the looping side trim looks like the trail of a fighter just racing across the sky. Plus, the S-22 got a special triple set of tail lights that are inspired by afterburners. So this Comet has style. And while the S-22 drop-top is already rare, this one wants true individuality. So you have the best in boulevard cruising pieces. That means upgrades like a lowered stance, smooth wheel covers, rear fender skirts, dual spotlights, faux lake pipes, and a long set of polished dual exhaust tips.

The black vinyl top looks good against the red, especially because it's a newer piece ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

The black vinyl top looks good against the red, especially because it's a newer piece with a nice fit. And since we like this color combo, it's nice to see it power down to reveal a full black interior. The S-22 trim level was meant to be both comfortable and sporty, and this one takes that feeling to a new level. That's because it has the leather seats of a later Lincoln MKZ. They have a nicely integrated style, and the front ones still power adjust for the ultimate in comfort. There are nice vintage details, like the center console, red convertible boot, and the special S-22 badge in the center of the classic steering wheel. But there are also details like the Bosch auxiliary readouts that remind you this classic is about being a driver-ready drop-top.

Under the hood is a classic-style 260 cubic-inch V8. It's even believed to be an era-correct motor. But what we really like about this powerhouse is how there were the right investments to keep it a proper cruiser. So you have updated features like a Flamethrower coil, a newer alternator, and an aluminum radiator. It's a strong-running V8 that feels smooth out on the road. Power steering and a three-speed automatic transmission make for an easy driver. And this one was even given recent investment for an even better experience, including front disc brakes and rear air shocks.

It has the right mix of a driver-quality and driver-ready style that makes it an awesome road-ready cruiser. So if you're looking for a rare custom convertible with plenty of jet-age appeal, call today!!!
