When GM introduced the Chevrolet Nova in the early 1960s, it was so wildly popular that it was soon making inroads into the performance car market. It wasn't long until Chevy responded by introducing the Super Sport version, a spiffy little two-door hardtop with loads and loads of curb appeal. This 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS is a nice example of one of the early smaller-size muscle cars. This isn't a clone. This isn't a tribute. This isn't a figment of your imagination. This is the real deal. This is a true V8 SS, a bona fide 18-code car from the factory. Get ready. You're about to be impressed in a big way.

Though not the original factory color, the teal finish found on this machine matches up amazingly well with the boxy shape and well-defined lines of the '67 Nova. The paint job was applied back in the 1990s but still has a remarkably vibrant look. Multi-colored pin striping adequately accentuates the entire exterior. The bumpers and the chrome trim are intact and shining brightly, while a power antenna on the rear adds a little something extra to the cosmetics. The car even displays the correct "Nova SS" badges that were added to the line in '67. A look inside the engine bay and underneath the car finds everything extremely clean and well-appointed. This Super Sport looks so amazing that it leaves you smiling to yourself as you wonder where the mild-mannered street car ends and the manhandling muscle machine begins. The car maintains a good solid stance punctuated by the sheer beauty of a set of wheels from Colorado Custom, the same company that manufactured the dynamic-looking steering wheel that sets the tone for the interior.

Diamond-pleated vinyl seats front and back add a measure of elegance while serving as the centerpiece for a beautiful black interior. A B&M shifter and tachometer are both integrated into the console area, while a three-gauge instrument cluster hangs beneath the dash. Tilt steering and an AM/FM radio with CD player are among the other amenities found here. You will really appreciate the overall condition of the interior. The upholstery is still in good shape with that soft luxurious feel. The painted surfaces look really nice. The trim, knobs and buttons are in good condition and the instruments and gauges are clear and legible. This interior has obviously been well-preserved.

That old adage about sticking with what works is never more evident than with the drive train choices found in this little street stormer. The gold standard combination of a small block 350 and TH 350 automatic transmission provide the primary motivation. The engine has been massaged with a few classic add-ons like a Weiand aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb, electronic ignition and headers. A moderate street cam has been added to give a little broader range to the power curve. It's had a recent valve job, so there's plenty of compression there. Nail the throttle on this machine, and you'll feel the rush from head to toe! The transmission has been rebuilt and fine-tuned with a shift kit, enabling it to move through the gears like clockwork. A recently-serviced 10-bolt positive traction rear end is fitted with a 3.73 gear. Immensely popular across the board, that ratio has long been recognized as the ultimate balance of performance and drivability. And a nice set of traction bars underneath give it a little extra grip on take-off. And when it's time to stop, power disc brakes up front bring this car safely to a halt.

This 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS is a most compelling automobile. It is one of those classic street machines that easily adapts to almost any situation. Car show. Cruise in. Road trip. A day at the local drag strip. Or a quick run to the corner store. This is a beautiful car that can provide miles and miles of pleasure. Call today!
