Well, given the long list of details on this 1941 Ford pickup, including the powerful 302 V8, custom suspension, and killer good looks, you'll see that the builders of this all-steel beauty actually pulled it off. This sucker really is dialed-in.

Although they didn't know it at the time, Ford designers created an all-time classic by combining the passenger car nose with the all-business pickup truck cab and bed. The builders of this '41 actually exercised some restraint on the exterior, electing not to shave, chop, or smooth any of the original design, leaving all of the awesome factory lines and beautiful chrome trim intact. After all, those elements are what made us fall in love with these trucks in the first place, so why mess with a great thing? Of course, with elegant Silver Metallic on its flanks, you know they had to sweat the small stuff, because this truck is an eyeball magnet. As a result, the fit and finish are excellent, with doors that close without being slammed, a hood that seals up smoothly and curvaceous fenders that reflect light without distortion. The trim that runs down the center of the nose is brightly chromed to stand out against the silver paint and we have to admit that we really like the simplicity of the running boards without their usual rubber coverings. A beautifully crafted wood bed with stainless rub strips is pickup truck 101, and dig the functional tailgate that allows easy access out back.

The black leather-lined interior is definitely a no-compromises way to enjoy your vintage Ford. The freshly upholstered bench seat looks traditional with narrow pleats, but the trick door panels, small-diameter banjo steering wheel, and white-faced Classic Instruments gauges installed in the dash are all custom tricks that blend seamlessly into the overall look. As a high-end rod, everything is in place, from the Vintage Air A/C system to the Lokar shifter that looks like a vintage stick shift to the Sony AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB/BT stereo neatly stashed above in the custom headliner. High-end black carpets enhance the upscale look and feel, and it would be easy to spend a weekend in here cruising around the country in first-class comfort. It's truly a special place to be.

Mechanically, this Ford doesn't necessarily break any new ground but that's not really the point. For reliability and performance, you just can't beat a 302 cubic inch Ford V8 (no Bowtie power in this streetrod baby!) topped by an Edelbrock carb and Edelbrock aluminum intake. That big air cleaner is an Edellbrock too, the finned Ford racing valve covers are slick, and all the accessories have been mounted tight to the block so they fit under that pointed hood quite neatly. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool, and headers feed a custom dual exhaust system with chambered mufflers out back that turn down right before the rear axle and sound fantastic. A Heidts Mustang II front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, a 4-link rear suspension complete with double adjusted coil-overs, and power disc brakes gives it modern handling and braking, while the C4 3-speed automatic transmission feeds an 8.8-inch rear end with 3.55 gears inside, so it'll still work like a pickup truck and a cruiser as well. Custom steel wheels were painted deep red and fitted with simple Ford center caps and beauty rings, and the custom look is enhanced by staggered 195/60/15 front and 255/70/15 rear BFGoodrich blackwall radials.
