The sleek darkness immediately attracts your attention to this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle 505 Restomod. Let's start with the paint that's instantly grabbing your attention. It's an awesome shade of black, and we're told it was part of a frame-off restoration that happened in 2016. There's a sleekness and darkness that immediately sets the right tone for this car. We're told this was born a real-deal Super Sport, and while unverified, you're not likely going to find anyone who will question its mean machine credentials. It has all the right SS details, like the dual power dome hood, correct badging, and wide exhaust tips. That nicely contrasting streak of white on the SS side stripes is even painted on and cleared over for a smooth shine. While there was a lot invested in making the exterior look good, there was money left in the budget for the interior, too. It's a thoughtful setup where the front bucket seats have a custom pattern with comfy velour inserts. There are some nice comfort upgrades, like the cold-blowing air conditioning and a retro-style AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth. But as much as these are features for comfort and distinction, this was definitely built to go fast. You understand it instantly when you slip into the driver's seat and spot details like the column-mounted shift light, digital auxiliary readouts, and the Sniper EFI controller. As great as everything else is, it's what in the engine bay that you're going to love most about this restored and upgraded Chevelle. The V8 is ready for show duty with a tidy setup and plenty of polished components. The 454 cubic-inch big block is already a larger displacement than what was offered in 1969, but that's just the beginning of the upgrades. This younger Gen VI was enlarged to be a 505ci stroker motor. It's now topped with an upgraded intake and a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system. Hedman headers exhale with added power while contributing to the rumble of the H-pipe dual exhaust. And when you really want to bring the thunder, all you have to do is open the exhaust cutouts. This has the right components to get the big power to the pavement. It starts with the control of a stout Tremec five-speed manual transmission, and that feeds a 12-bolt rear. We're told this is a 4.11 Positraction unit, and that means powerful and confident take-offs. And don't forget to check out the undercarriage photos where you'll see the suspension has been upgraded. This includes a thick front sway bar with newer bushings, a reinforced four-link rear, and traction bars. Add in power steering, modern sport tires, and power brakes with discs up front, and this makes for an easy way to harness big power.
