Iconic, interesting, and affordable – this 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 is the kind of American classic that puts the wind in your hair without draining your bank account.

The Ford Galaxies are really starting to come into their own on the classic car market. These cars were truly the full-sized Fords that followed the idea of 'lower, wider, longer' as far as it could – even placing the headlights and taillights as far in the corners of the body as possible. This allowed for some seriously large chrome elements such as the bumpers and stylized split-grille. The sheetmetal is truly sporty with a well-creased line that runs from the headlight all along the car until it helps to form the squared-off taillights. To see this classic style it takes straight body panels, and an even hand applying the pearl white paint. Plus, the American racing Torq Thrust wheels are a timeless upgrade that are bold, without making this classic look too modern.

The black folding roof looks great on this car, especially because at the touch of a power switch, it stows to reveal a matching black vinyl interior. This full-sized Ford provides nice comfort for up to six family and friends. Inside is a highly ... Please ask for the full description.

Inside is a highly stylized sea of black with a great pattern on the seats and door panels. Plus, there's plenty of bright trim to break up the darkness. You slip behind the factory wheel and gaze out at the wide two-tier dashboard that places the speedometer and AM radio up high where they're easy to see, while the secondary controls are in their own pod just below. This feels like true 1960s motoring, with the exception of the very handy auxiliary gauge package – a welcomed addition that provides much more vital info than what came from the factory.

Pop the hood and you'll see that this big engine bay has been consumed with big block power. This is the car's correct Y-code 390 cubic-inch V8 borrowed from the Thunderbird program, and it has even been upgraded to a four-barrel carburetor. It's been dressed nicely with the chrome air cleaner and valve covers, but overall the V8 feels exceptionally authentic, right down to the displacement decal and the blue fan that matches the block. A motor this large has no trouble giving this full-size Ford some real get-up-and-go, and the dual exhaust makes a powerful sound without losing the car's cruising attitude. That's really how to view this drop top Galaxie 500. It's a power steering car with a three-speed automatic transmission and power brakes. So, it's no slouch in-between the stoplights, but it's really more comfortable taking everyone to the Saturday cruise-in.

Convertibles are traditionally the rarest of the breed (Ford sold seven times more Galaxie 500 coupes in '66), so this is an opportunity to get an uncommon classic at an exceptional price...that is if you're quick enough to grab this deal. Call now!!
