A numbers-matching, garage find, 1966 Ford Mustang, in a cool original color, all for under $23,000?!?! It might seem too good to be true, but this American icon is all that and more.
You can easily love the distinction of this handsome factory-correct R-code of Ivy Green. If it looks exceptionally impressive in these pictures, then you're picking up on the full professional respray a coupe years ago. It's the Mustang's original color, but the modern application adds an extra luster that the factory never could in '66. This coupe has a known history, where it was driven in Florida, and then taken to Ohio. There it spent decades in a barn before being found, refreshed, and made ready for the road again. That means the super straight body is the result of many years where this one wasn't susceptible to hazards, like the weather and door dings. This same kind of protected life is also why all the brightwork is so vivid. So staying frozen in time not only gives you a better story at the car shows, but it also creates a Mustang that's a cut above.
Taking time off the road also means the interior got a lot less seat time. The result is the bucket seats, door panel, and carpets all have ... Please ask for the full description.

The result is the bucket seats, door panel, and carpets all have remained quite nice. The five-dial gauge panel became standard in 1966, which offers a sportier look, and holds a complete set of gauges. Even the original AM radio is still in place! Aside from providing some very period-correct tunes, it's a nice complement to the chrome trim around the gauges and the three-spoke steering wheel. Of course the brightwork you'll really enjoy are the vents on the cold-blowing air conditioning, that's been upgraded to modern R-134a. This just helps makes this classic cruiser comfortable enough for even the daily commute.
The real treat of this Mustang is getting to show off the believed original (Ford wasn't stamping partial VIN's back then) drivetrain that's so correct, even the carburetor is believed to be original. The reliable and perky C-code 289 cubic-inch V8 moves the lightweight Mustang enthusiastically through any traffic. The engine bay looks exactly as factory-correct as you'd expect, with a coat of Ford blue paint on the block, and the correct air cleaner that includes the 289 decal. These engines are extremely reliable, parts are readily available, and performance is very good - making this coupe a painless joy to drive. Adding to this go-anywhere feeling is the Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission and fresh Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires on new Scott Drake stylized steel wheels.
This is not exactly a survivor car... instead it's better. You get all the "numbers-matching" recognition, and plenty of documentation, like the owner's manual, restoration receipts, and maintenance records. Still, this one has an upgraded look and modern comfort to make you want to take it out for a weekend cruise. But what's truly amazing is this irresistible, iconic package, can be yours for far less than the price of a new Mustang. Call today!!
