This Ford 1927 Roadster is a very cool kind of custom machine if you love powerful distinction. Big block muscle, Poweglide ease, a classic racing-style interior, and a strong frame/suspension package make for a distinct blacktop machine.
There's an honesty and uniqueness to this build that seems to put function first. There are sleeker T-buckets and Model A roadsters out there with candy paint and multi-tone flames (and you can do that here, too,) but the real appeal is the driver's kind of package. The custom frame lets this sit low while still giving you the big rear tire package. This is a roadster, but the removable color-matched hardtop gives it a better aerodynamic profile. Modern tires, a modern suspension, and modern headlights improve the function without taking away from the classic feeling. It makes for a vintage-style street machine that feels more confident when it's out on the streets.
The interior is all about getting the racing style right. You have a roll bar for added strength, and underneath that, you have proper racing seats. The open engine bay puts the big block on full display. This 454 cubic-inch V8 is built right with a Holley 750cfm four-barrel carburetor, GM Performance Products heads, a Weiand intake, and Sanderson headers that give a thunderous sound out of each side. This mean motor also has nice supporting components like an aluminum radiator with electric fan and a fuel tank ahead of the rear axle for good weight distribution. The Powerglide automatic transmission is a racer's favorite and it feeds into a Ford limited-slip 3.88 rear end. As you look underneath, you spot the strength of the custom box steel frame, a tubular A-arm front suspension, strong trailing arm rear, front disc brakes, and adjustable coilovers all-around.
