This 1957 Chevrolet Cameo is not only a looker of the first order, but it's also a proud member of a very pivotal class of vintage trucks. Coming along at a time when pickups were all about bare bones ruggedness and no-frills demeanors, the Cameo offered a styling sensibility that was previously reserved largely for passenger cars and was also the forerunner to the El Camino.

Its well-ornamented exterior provides the first clue that Chevy had more than reliable transportation to the work site in mind when the Cameo was brought out. It offers an abundance of period correct style for a truck of its era that blends in well with just the right amount of ruggedness. Take a look up front, where the smile like visage of the wideset headlights and intricate grille sit just over a sturdy bumper. Step around to the side and you'll see that the doors themselves carry their own badging - a rare styling cue - and the sides of the bed are decked out with broad, detailed trim with scripted ivory accents. The turquoise and white color scheme this classic wears was a "go to" choice for many of Chevy's passenger cars - it graced the exteriors of quite a few Bel Airs, among other models - and it's in fine form here, offering a killer shine and no glaring blemishes to pull focus. Owing to its manufacturer's quest to equip it with as much car-like style as possible, there's also a cool collection of chrome on display - the brightwork and bumpers both fore and aft are in consistently good condition.

The matching turquoise and ivory interior is a great complement to all the style found outside. The plushly padded bench seat carries a period correct two-tone pattern of its own that mixes cloth and vinyl. This is a very nicely detailed vintage driving environment that's sharp and well-maintained wherever you look - the clean door panels and freshly painted interior steel look first-rate, as does the two-tone dash area and contrasting carpeting sitting over a layer of Dynamat installed to insulate the cabin from road noise and heat. The gauges inside the fan shaped instrument cluster are as readable as can be behind its crystal clear lens and they're joined by a trio of aftermarket counterparts below the dash to keep a close read on motoring functions. A Vintage Air climate control system has been added, with a quartet of vents in place to circulate its work and keep things comfortable inside. Your audio options will be well attended to via a hidden AM/FM stereo that also offers iPod connectivity. The bed area in back features wood planks that have been recently refinished, with stainless steel ribbing between them.
