BUILT 572CI DART BLOCK, DYNO SHEET FOR 900+HP, NHRA CAGE, SLICK BUILD, FAST!

This 1971 Chevrolet Nova 572 Drag was built to do only one thing - go fast! And with a nitrous big block under the hood, it has nearly 1,000 horsepower! Plus, the race cage, suspension, transmission, and much more are all part of a comprehensive build that's ready to be a quarter-mile king.

Novas have always been a great place to start for a speed machine kind of custom because these were born with a lightweight nature that doesn't leave out a substantial presence. And the paint sets the tone nicely. The Blue Me Away is a very cool paint name for such a powerful car, and it's something more vivid than the factory ever offered. It was professionally applied in 2015 when this car made its full restoration/transformation. Not only do you have a smooth and glossy finish, bright chrome bumpers, good body panels, and doors that fit quite well. So there's a level of quality you don't find in too many race-ready machines. It was nice that they gave this the look of an SS tribute with the proper badging, a blacked-out grille, and blackout rear panel. But really, no one was going to question this coupe's performance credentials. It has that and the Weld racing wheels have the extra meaty rear set ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

It has that and the Weld racing wheels have the extra meaty rear set and the lightweight fiberglass hood has that massive power dome.

The full black interior continues the right attitude. The door panels, dash, and other fundamentals have a clean look, but what you really notice are the competition-ready features. You instantly see it with the bucket seats, racing harnesses, and NHRA certified chromoly roll cage. As a true competition machine, domestic comforts have been deleted so that they don't zap the power from this Nova. So now the dash is dominated by the full AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauge package. And there's also the Turbo Action command center, shift light on the dash, and a Cheetah SCS shifter.

The motor may be a monster, but it's also ready for showtime. The smooth inner walls are deep and dark, so it funnels all your attention to the bright and tidy big block setup. This is a Dart Big M block 572 cubic-inch V8, and this one has all the right go-fast goodies. According to the consignor, this is built with Brodix BB5 heads, titanium valves, a Callies crank, Callies rods, Cam Motion camshaft, 904 lifters, JE 14:1 pistons, Speed Pro rings, an ATI damper, Sonny's Racing intake, and topped with a Pro Systems modified Holley four-barrel carburetor. And when you need to get a car length ahead, there's a Speedtech nitrous system with AEM progressive controller (said to have only been used once for testing.) While the car was built in 2015, this full motor package was refreshed in 2018, and they even did a dyno run showing 989 horsepower! And the headed-fed dual exhaust makes sure to announce this power properly. A professional setup like this also has the right supporting comports like a Ron Davis radiator, a custom Moroso pan, and steel braided lines. Plus, the fuel cell, nitrous tank, and Optima red top battery are in the trunk for better weight distribution. The transmission is a Coan Racing TH400 unit with trans brake, 4500-5500 converter, and Ultra bellhousing. This feeds into a Strange Engineering 9-inch rear with Moser axles and 4.11 gears. The undercarriage photos show suspension upgrades such as a Flaming River 16:1 steering box, Strange double adjustable shocks, and QA1 control arms. Those massive Mickey Thompson rear tires put plenty of rubber on the road, and you also have the stopping power of four-wheel disc brakes.

The sale comes complete with the dyno sheet and service manuals. This Nova is so race-ready it even comes with a drag parachute. It's a true power juggernaut, and so you know you want it. Call today!!!
