Hard to resist a 2-seat roadster with lots of horsepower and only 2300 pounds to haul around. This Cobra is a B&B roadster built in 2009 and driven only 385 miles since it was completed, so it's fully sorted and ready to rock. It's also jaw-dropping handsome and scary fast.
Since the Cobra's already a high-visibility machine, there's really not much point in going for the subtle look. With that in mind, this B&B roadster wears sizzling yellow paint with white stripes over nicely prepped bodywork that nails the vintage Cobra look quite well. If this one looks especially sleek to you, note that it doesn't have the roll bar behind the driver's seat, but the flared fenders and raked-back windshield are pure Cobra magic. B&B is known for their rugged underpinnings and bulletproof mechanicals, but the 'glass bodywork also fits well and looks great under the urethane paint, which has a brilliant shine. There's enough chrome to make it glitter, including the mini bumpers, side mirrors, and a flip-up fuel filler cap, as well as a pair of small rectangular taillights that match the factory stuff. And it's all brand new.
Low-back leather buckets are form-fitting enough to keep you in place during aggressive maneuvers, and the leather-faced dash is full of vintage-looking gauges. Secure yourself behind that wood-rimmed steering wheel with unique center-mounted shoulder belts, and you'll find it's easier to get comfortable in this Cobra than most, thanks to the center armrest. Even the shifter for the C4 3-speed automatic transmission has a leather boot that gives it a suitably vintage look that seems right in the all-black interior. Like most Cobras (and all the originals), there is no radio, but the side pipes provide all the basso-profundo you could possibly want. The trunk is fully upholstered with the same black carpet as the interior and actually offers enough storage for a decent road trip just about anywhere.
With a stout 302 under the hood, that road trip is likely to be very interesting indeed. Fortified with GT40 heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and a 650 CFM Holley it certainly snarls like a small-block Cobra should. For efficiency, there's a full roller Comp Camps valvetrain, and Ford Racing supplied a set of their black wrinkle valve covers that give it a very 1960s look. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers and side pipes (of course!) give it the right soundtrack and look awesome to boot. That C4 transmission powers a 9-inch rear hanging off a modified 4-link suspension with coil-overs, while the front end is suspended by tubular A-arms and there's a disc brake at all four corners. While you're looking around under there, note the beefy chassis that provides impressive rigidity for improved handling and safety. They also dipped into the Ford Racing catalog for the rolling stock, which consists of chrome 17-inch FR500 wheels with 245/45/17 front and massive 315/35/17 rear performance radials.
