WELL PRESERVED, ORIG 5.0L, 5 SPD, 59K ORIG MILES, DOCS, NEW TOP, NICE!!

This 1983 Ford Mustang GLX convertible strikes a perfect balance between originality and the right upgrades - all at an unbeatable price. After all, the factory-correct red-on-white is a great combination, and everyone loves a correct 5.0 V8 five-speed combo with under 60k original miles. But when that powerplant has been enhanced and so has the suspension, well then, this is your perfect open road companion.

This is a pivotal year for the Mustang. 1983 marked the return of the convertible, and at nearly double the price of the base coupe, these are a rare sight today. You can instantly tell that this drop-top has been treated with care for over three decades. We believe most of the paint is original, and that's important on a low-mileage classic like this. The Bright Red has a tasteful mix of aged-in respect while still living up to its name. However the white convertible top was never supposed to last nearly four decades, and so thankfully, it has been replaced with a newer unit. It does a great job of coordinating with the white pinstripe that starts at the headlights and runs all the way around the car. Speaking of seamless integration, the dark rub strip that hugs the entire ... Please ask for the full description.

Speaking of seamless integration, the dark rub strip that hugs the entire body is a great distinguishing characteristic when it is as straight and complete as this one. But this isn't a pure factory machine. The rear spoiler, bright exhaust tips, and later GT-style five-spoke alloy wheels all are little hints at how there's added focus on a sporty drop-top.

When it comes to convertibles, the interior is often as important as the exterior. After all, when you lower the power-folding top, you get to share the inside with the world. That's where the two-tone red and white interior really makes an impact. It has a boldness that radiates from within to make it distinct, and at the same time, it fully still coordinates with the exterior for a memorable style. Much of the main pieces remain stock, including the wood paneling, AM/FM stereo, and the original speedo and tach. You even have nice details, like the white convertible boot and working courtesy lights. Plus, the center console with warning light map and digital clock is pure retro-cool. But you can instantly spot the driver-oriented upgrades. The grippy sports steering wheel on a tilt column and Hurst short-throw shifter mean your hands get the real treats in this drop-top.

Under the hood is the 5.0-liter V8. This is believed to be the original block, but you can see from the added polished air grabber and valve covers that there have been some solid investments here. This V8 was upgraded for power with newer components like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and BBK headers. That enhancement feeds a 2.5-inch H-pipe dual exhaust with Flowmasters, so you know this beast has a wicked rumble. You get complete control over this enhanced powerplant thanks to the five-speed manual transmission. And speaking of control, there have also been upgrades in road holding. This includes investments from only a few years ago like the KYB shocks & struts, Eibach springs, front control arms, bushings, a Steeda bump steer kit, rear sway bar link, and Maximum Motorsports rear control arms. Add in power steering, front disc brakes, subframe connectors, and the grip of BF Goodrich gForce tires, and you soon realize this will be your new favorite toy for the backroads.

Here's a classic convertible that's upgraded where you most want it, but original where it counts. It even comes with documentation such as the warranty card, owner's manual, and maintenance records. So when you get this much for such a value price, you know you have to be quick to take home this deal. Call today!!!
