For all those Ford guys who wanted something like the Impala SS, this two-owner 2003 Mercury Marauder is the answer. A big, rear-wheel-drive sedan with Ford's most potent 4-cam V8, reasonable handling, and big brakes, the Marauder was a cool experiment that will surely find big appreciation in the future.
All Marauders were black, and with a name like “Marauder” it's probably the only reasonable choice. Based on the infamous Grand Marquis, Ford designers kept the big sedan's gently rounded profile, which was surely popular because of its resemblance to police cruisers, not despite it. A few special tweaks like the front and rear bumpers, a blacked-out grille, special headlights, and a bare minimum of chrome trim give the Marauder a unique look that's instantly identifiable as something beyond your average heavy-duty FoMoCo cruiser. Dutifully kept as a garage queen and showing just 39,961 original miles, this particular Marauder looks extremely clean and it's hard to believe it's been more than a decade since it was built.
