VERY CLEAN SURVIVOR, MATCHING NUMBERS 350 V8, AUTO, PS, PB, PW, RUNS OUT GREAT!

Released to commemorate the quarter century legacy of inspired driving provided by Chevy's true American sports car, this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition greets the present in its original condition not only inside and out, but under the hood as well. Despite its 40 years of service, it's ready to hit the road just as soon as you get it home and comes complete with its factory build sheet to document its authentic special edition status.

The two-tone color configuration this commemorative '78 wears was the inspiration of renowned automobile designer and Corvette Hall of Fame member Bill Mitchell, with a gray lower body that transitions to silver above to properly observe this iconic car's Silver Anniversary, while separated by a pinstripe running from front to back. While it's an undeniably sharp look and this low-slung performer cuts quite an impressive presence in its current condition, the paint is original and while it cleaned up quite nicely after a full detail, it is still original, so there's nothing hiding in there. The flowing fenders and futuristic profile that set its third generation form apart from previous editions are looking unblemished and well aligned, ... Please ask for the full description.

The flowing fenders and futuristic profile that set its third generation form apart from previous editions are looking unblemished and well aligned, with hood and doors that line up well with their surrounding body panels and open and close without issue. The T-Top configuration provides a quick and easy conversion from open air motoring to a more sheltered environment while the sloping, tapered rear windshield just behind it pays a sort of visual homage to previous 'Vettes, especially those of the early to mid-'60s.

The dark silver leather interior is in solid shape, especially for a survivor like this, with its more than four decades of life. While you can see evidence of wear on the bucket seats, they still carry plenty of padding and don't show any serious blemishes, and the door panels they're bracketed by look downright sharp for a car of this age. The factory steering wheel still sits on top of its tilting/telescoping column, while just beyond it, the dash area looks impressively fresh, with its assortment of gauges so comprehensive that they extend from instrument cluster to center dash in signature vintage 'Vette fashion. The dash pad just above shows no cracking. This Chevy classic left the factory with air conditioning installed and all components are in place - the system blows with conviction but not particularly cold, so a coolant recharge will likely be needed to have it functioning in top form.

A 350 cubic inch L82 V8 armed with a 4-barrel carb sits under the hood in an engine compartment whose very clean look belies its age, still in its original configuration, down to the properly painted air cleaner and induction system extending forward. The L82 was revered by auto reviewers for its strong performance when it debuted and this example, the original powerplant, acquits itself very well, starting up promptly and running smoothly to provide all the road-readiness you could want. Just behind it sits a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts with slip-free precision. Smooth power steering combines with the Corvette's low, road-hugging stance to provide strong handling, while power brakes at all four corners bring this relatively lightweight car to a stop very quickly. The set of 16" Corvette wheels outfitted with Goodyear Eagle GT radials provide both surefootedness and a great, period-correct look.

Corvettes still in stock configuration that also feature the reassuringly solid condition of this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette 25th Anniversary Edition are hard to come by. Call today!
