ORIGINAL COLOR COMBO, #'S MATCH MOTOR, LONG TERM OWNERSHIP, POWER STEER & DISCS

Vintage car fans will love to find a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with its numbers-matching motor and factory-correct triple green presentation. Even the interior has been exceptionally preserved. But this is no time capsule. The coupe's stance helps clue you in on how the V8 has been upgraded to make for the kind of car that can really take people by surprise as it shows them its taillights.

The Green Mist paint is the factory-correct color, and it looks good on a 1970s machine. Of course, that's especially true on a coupe with an overall solid presentation. That means a nice gloss to the respray, clean body panels, and a well-fitting green vinyl top. Form-hugging bumpers, full-length rockers, and premium Monte Carlo trim make for a proper look to an upper-class Chevy. The whole hardtop has a solid vintage style. So if you don't spot the bright helper bars under the rear axle, you might not pick up on the true power within this sleeper-style classic.

The sea of green continues inside. So while some of the more obvious muscle machines are done in triple-black, this continues its understated style with the exterior, roof, and interior creating a triple-green. In fact, people who ... Please ask for the full description.

In fact, people who peek inside might just get the impression that you borrowed the car from your grandparents thanks to the clear vinyl covers (seriously though, it's impressive to have the cloth seats preserved so well.) And the fundamentals like the dash, headliner, door panels, and carpeting all look good to give an overall feeling of vintage quality. There are nice cruiser features like a tilt steering column and factory air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) You'll even appreciate details like the working dome light. But the addition of the Suntune tach and auxiliary gauges also get you ready for something good under the hood.

The engine bay has the numbers-matching motor, but one glance and you know it's far from stock. This was born with a 400 cubic-inch V8, and Chevy performance people know these make for a solid powerhouse when de-stroked to 377ci. It also was upgraded with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, HEI ignition, and long tube headers feeding a glasspack style dual exhaust. So now you have a NASCAR-style setup with a solid added hit of top-end power. The numbers-matching three-speed automatic transmission feeds a 12-bolt rear end. And the rear suspension is now reinforced and has a sway bar. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and you have a powerful coupe that also lives up to the Monte Carlo's full cruising nature.

The sale comes complete with the build receipt and owner's manual. This is the classic Chevy hardtop that keeps its vintage style on display, and its performance nature well-hidden until it's time to show off. Call today!!!
